WILLIAM HENRY "HENRY" SPARKS, son of ANGELINE CANTRELL and ELIJAH S. SPARKS JR., was born October 4, 1896 in Flat Gap, Johnson County, Kentucky, died June 25, 1975 in Greenfield, Highland County, Ohio, and is buried in Bainbridge Cemetery in Bainbridge, Ross County, Ohio. He married BELVA ANN MURRAY, daughter of JONATHAN MURRAY and SARAH JANE JOHNSON, about 1927. She was born June 29, 1901 in Kentucky, died February 14, 1963 in Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in McKenzie Cemetery in Sitka, Johnson County, Kentucky. Belva Murry married (1) GEORGE H. CRISLIP. She married (3) GLEN MCKENZIE.

      Thomas Murray is said to have been in the War of 1812. However, the writer is inclined to believe that in addition to the family tradition that Mr. Murray was also in the American Revolution, as book No. 6 (page 351) of the Floyd County court orders show that Susan, the wife of Thomas Murray, appeared before the court, evidently for the purpose of obtaining a pension. Mrs. Murray's maiden name must have been Helton as Samuel Murray had an uncle Rhoderic Helton who was born April 6, 1776, and died November 15, 1859. Thomas Murray is buried in the Sam Stambaugh Cemetery at Stambaugh, Kentucky.

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of his headstone shows that Henry Sparks lived from October 4, 1896 to June 26, 1975, and was buried in Bainbridge Cemetery in Bainbridge, Ross County, Ohio.

She married HENRY FLOYD VANOVER, son of JOHN P. VANOVER and CATHERINE TAYLOR, October 4, 1877 in Johnson County, Kentucky. He wa born in September of 1853 in Virginia, and died January 11, 1925 in Red Bush, Johnson County, Kentucky.

Notes: According to her death certificate, Martha Vanover Mitchell died July 10, 1930 in Yeager, Pike County, Kentucky, from nephritis. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as North Carolina, her birth date as May 25, 1853, her marital status as married, her parents as John P. Vanover (b.
