JOHN HENRY BROWDER, son of CALDONA LEMASTER and JESSE WALTER BROWDER, was born October 27, 1896 in Osburn, Arkansas, and died December 19, 1975 in Lone Rock, Richland County, Wisconsin. He married (1) FANNIE LEIGH JONES, daughter of JOHN CALVIN JONES and LONA BASS, about 1920 in Cooke County, Texas. She was born January 10, 1900 in Texas, died February 1, 1937, and is buried in Truscott Cemetery in Truscott, Knox County, Texas. He married (2) MAY (unknown last name).

Notes: According to his death certificate, John Calvin Jones died July 31, 1957 in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, from arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Georgia, his birth date as July 28, 1860, his marital status as widowed, his usual place of residence as Wichita Falls, his occupation as rancher and farmer, his parents as unknown, the informant as W. M. Jones, and the burial place as Truscott Cemetery in Truscott, Knox County, Texas.

According to her death certificate, Lona Bass Jones died April 1, 1917 in Truscott, Knox County, Texas, from a "General break down." Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Mississippi, her birth date as November 24, 1866, her marital status as married, her parents as James Bass (b. Mississippi) and Maggie Miller (b. Mississippi), and the burial place as Truscott.

According to Texas marriage record transcripts, J. H. Browder married Fannie Leigh Jones in 1921 in Cooke County.

When John Henry Browder's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1918 in Lawton, Comanche County, Oklahoma, he stated that he was working and living in Lawton, that his closest relative was Mrs. Mollie G. Browder of Lawton, and that he was born October 27, 1896 in Osburn, Arkansas. He was found to be tall, of medium build, and he had brown eyes and dark brown hair.

When John H. Browder's World War II draft registration card was filled out on April 27, 1942 in Denver, Denver County, Colorado, he stated that he was working at Lowry Field in Denver, that he was living at 1371 Verbena in Denver, that the person who would always know his address was Mrs. May Browder of the same address, and that he was born October 27, 1896 in Osburn, Arkansas. He was found to be 5 feet 11 inches tall, he weighed 205 pounds, and he had brown eyes, brown and gray hair, and a dark complexion.

According to Wisconsin death records, John H. Browder died December 19, 1975 in Richland County at the age of 79.

According to Social Security death record transcripts, John Browder was born October 27, 1896, and died in December of 1975. He received his Social Security card prior to 1951 in Colorado, and his last place of residence was in Lone Rock, Richland County, Wisconsin.

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of her headstone shows that Fannie Leigh Browder lived from January 10, 1900 to February 1, 1937, and was buried in Truscott Cemetery in Truscott, Knox County, Texas.

      His obituary found on findagrave.com: James H. "Jim" Browder, 89, of Peoria, Illinois passed away Tuesday, at the Unity Point Methodist Hospital in Peoria surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 28, 1927 in Amarillo, Texas to John and Fannie (Jones) Browder. He married Lucretia Colleen "Frankie" Johnson on December 4, 1948 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on June 8, 1987. He is also preceded in death by one brother and one sister. He is survived by three sons, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He worked for over 68 years as an operating engineer out of Local #649 and served as a Business Representative. He was a former chairman and member of the Peoria Regional Airport Authority, Hanna City Sportsman's Club, Bartonville American Legion Post 979, Joseph Robbins Masonic Lodge, former Moose and Eagles Lodge member. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and was selected for a Peoria Honor Flight. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville. Jim was a giving and loving person with a keen sense of humor. He was very mechanically inclined and a jack of all trades. There was nothing he could not accomplish. Funeral services July 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Bartonville. Burial in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

She married THOMAS MELVIN PEMBRIDGE JR., son of THOMAS M. PEMBRIDGE and ESTHER WILLIAMS, about 1923. He was born June 15, 1897 in Coal Creek, Fremont County, Colorado.

Notes: Myrtle Browder's name is listed as Mrs. Tom Pembridge (from Denver) in her sister Daisy's obituary.

DAISY JEAN "JEAN" BROWDER, daughter of CALDONA LEMASTER and JESSE WALTER BROWDER, was born September 24, 1903 in Hazel Valley, Washington County, Arkansas, died in 1959, and is buried in Moravian Cemetery in West Salem, Edwards County, Illinois. She married WALTER ERVIN RECKLING, son of WILLIAM F. RECKLING and CLARA KUNTZ, November 18, 1926 in Denver County, Colorado, and they divorced in 1956. He was born January 20, 1899 in West Salem, Edwards County, Illinois, died in 1964, and is buried in Moravian Cemetery in West Salem, Edwards County, Illinois. Walter Reckling married (2) KITTY (unknown last name).

According to a transcript of his World War II draft registration card, Walter Ervin Reckling was born January 20, 1899 in West Salem, Illinois. He was 5 feet 8 inches tall, he weighed 194 pounds, he had blue eyes and blonde hair, a ruddy complexion, he was living in Lusk, Niobrara County, Wyoming, and his next of kin is listed as Jean Reckling.

Information found on findagrave.com and photos of their headstones (photo 2) shows that Jean Browder Reckling lived from 1903 to 1959, and was buried in Moravian Cemetery in West Salem, Edwards County, Illinois, and that Walter E. Reckling lived from 1899 to 1964, and was buried in the same cemetery.

Her obituary, found online on the Norton County [Kansas] Genealogical Society's website, under Early Doctors of Norton County:

     Mrs. Daisy Jean Reckling, 55, resident of Lusk since 1931, died Thursday afternoon. Her death was due to Kidney failure following surgery for cancer. Her son, Dr. Walter E. Reckling Jr. flew with her to Denver to place her on the artificial kidney at Colorado General Hospital but she died enroute.
     Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Peet Chapel and, at her request, her body was shipped to West Salem, Ill., for burial. Rev. Jacob Nein, pastor of the First Congregational Church presided over simple services. Mrs. Gerald Bardo, organist provided the music.
     She was the daughter of Jessie W. and Caldona Browder, born September 24, 1903 at Hazel Valley, Ark, one of ten children. The family moved soon thereafter to Oklahoma for a brief period and then to Colorado in 1915 where they homesteaded at Great Divide near Craig. She graduated from Craig High School in 1923 and entered nurses training in Mercy Hospital in Denver where she graduated in 1926.
     Shortly after marrying Dr. Walter E. Reckling , Sr. November 18, 1926, the couple moved to Lenora, Kan. Their daughter was born there. In 1931 they came to Lusk where their two sons were born. In her younger years Mrs. Reckling became a member of the Baptist Church. In Lusk her activities outside the home included working on Red Cross drives, an activity in which she was involved at the time of her illness. At other periods she served as school nurse, secretary of the Lusk Woman's Club, and in the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a woman of much artistic ability, and her art in needle-point won many awards at the Niobrara County and State Fairs.
     Surviving are her three children, Dr. Walter E. Reckling, Jr., Denver; Mrs. William Bales, Cheyenne; Frederick W. Reckling, who graduates in medicine this spring from Rochester School of Medicine and Dentristry ; and two grandchildren, Jamie Jean and Nancy Jill Bales.
     Also surviving are her mother of Denver; four brothers, John and Marvin Browder, Denver; and Walter and Oran Browder of Pueblo, Colo.; four sisters, Mrs. Tom Pembridge, and Mrs. J. M. Wright, Denver, Mrs. N. M. Hunt of Louisville, Ky.; and Kitty Reckling of Lusk. She and Dr. Reckling were divorced in 1956. Her father died in 1956 and another brother in 1942.

     Dr. Reckling Dies In Cheyenne Hospital, Tues.
     Dr. Walter E. Reckling, 65, Lusk physician and surgeon for 33 years died in the Veteran Administration Hospital in Cheyenne Tuesday afternoon of a heart condition.
     At the Herald's press time Wednesday afternoon it appeared certain that Dr. Reckling's remains would be placed in a casket at Cheyenne and taken to a Denver Crematory. From Denver the ashes would be taken to Illinois for interment. No services in Lusk are planned.
     Mrs. Reckling has requested that no flowers be sent. Friends are setting up a memorial fund, possibly to be used for a medical scholarship. Those who wish to remember Dr. Reckling may send contributions for the memorial fund to Mrs. Blanche Schaefer or George Earl Peet.
     Dr. Reckling, usually called "Doc", was a graduate of the Colorado School of Medicine. He first went to Kansas to practice, but said he couldn't take the dust of those drought years and came to Wyoming where the winds blew but it blew clean. He arrived in Lusk in 1931 and except for a few rare occasions never left, even for a vacation.
     Community Service
     While Dr. Reckling was completely devoted to his practice of medicine, he was a promoter of community events. In recognition of this he was presented the A.S. Robin Drug Company award for outstanding community service, at the Wyoming Medical Society Convention in 1962. At the 1963 Niobrara County Fair a special "Doc Reckling Day" program was held in order that local people might have an opportunity to show their appreciation for his years of service.
     Dr. Reckling was a constant promoter of "The Legend of Rawhide" Pageant. While his two sons, Dr, Walter E. Reckling, Jr. and Dr. Fred Reckling and daughter Mrs. Velma Jean Bales, were in the Lusk schools he worked especially hard at promoting school activities and improvements. He was a member of the Niobrara County Fair Board for 22 years and during World War I was a member of the Selective Service Board. He had served as Red Cross drive and first aid chairman. Dr. Reckling was the driving force behind the building of the two large buildings at the Niobrara Fairgrounds and loved to help promote parades.
     In 1941 he opened the Spencer Hospital and has operated it ever since. In 1959 Dr. Reckling and his wife Kitty, built an addition.
     Dr. Reckling had been in ill health for some time, but only last month had he announced his official retirement.
     In addition to Mrs. Reckling and his three children previously mentioned, he is survived by an adopted family of Candice, Jeffrey, Scarlet and Rhett.

     Dr. Walter Ervin Reckling, formerly of Quinter has taken the office of Dr. C. W. Ward and is now prepared to accept a general practice in medicine and surgery.
     Dr. Reckling is a graduate of the Colorado School of Medicine and holds licenses to practice in both Colorado and Kansas. He acquired his hospital experience in Denver and has for the past six months been practicing at Quinter.
     He is an ex-service man, having served with the 3rd Division of the Illinois National Guard, during his service he was in the Medical Corps. Since leaving the service he has married and has an infant daughter. Before her marriage to Walter, Daisy Jean Brower was a professional nurse.—Lenora News, 11/23/1927
     In 1931 Dr. Reckling surprised everyone by selling his practice to Dr. E. F. Steichen. He went to Lusk, Wyoming. While at Lusk he was recognized as a specialist in surgery. In 1941 he opened the Spencer Hospital, the last privately owned hospital in the state. His son Dr. Fred Reckling gave Dr. Walter’s memorabilia to the American Heritage Center.
     Dr Reckling was born Jan. 20, 1899 at West Salem, Illinois to William and Clara Kuntz Reckling. He is survived by wife Kitty, sons, Dr. Walter and Dr. Fred Reckling and daughter Mrs. Velma Jean Bales.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents: H.M. Lemaster and Dovie Jane Ritchie Lemaster, brothers: Walter Ottis Lemaster, sisters: Euna Mae Gregory, Lucille ONeal and Emma Jean Butler. She is survived by a very loving family that includes her 7 children Tony Hunt of Boulder, CO, Teresa Cain and husband Ronnie of Stilwell, Ok, Terry Hunt and wife Addie of Tulsa, Ok, Tim Hunt and wife Connie of Stilwell, Ok, Kim Scraper of Stilwell, Ok, Joseph Kaiser of Bartlesville, Ok, Jason Kaiser of Owasso, Ok. 20 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, friends of the Stilwell Nursing Home residents and staff, other relatives and many friends of the family also survive her.      Albert Jackson Meade, 93, formerly of Danville and Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at Charleston Health Care Center in Danville.
     Born August 28, 1908 in Magoffin County, he was a son of the late Wannie C. and Mary Alice Wheeler Meade. He was the widower of Lucy Hayward Meade.
     He was the owner of Meade Hardware in Harrodsburg. After his retirement he looked after real estate interests in Harrodsburg and Danville.
     He was a graduate of Ashland High School where he played two years on championship football teams. He was a 1933 graduate of Centre College and received a master’s degree in business administration form the University of Kentucky.
     He was a former member of the Rotary Club, Oleika Shrine Temple and all Masonic bodies. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
     Survivors include: two daughters, Sallie M. Howard, Frankfort, and Lucy M. Howe, Virginia Beach, VA; one son, J. Stephen Meade, Danville; two sisters, Chloe M. Baker, Harrodsburg and Nola M. LaMaster, Chillicothe, OH; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Albert Meade Jr., and one granddaughter.
     Funeral services were held Saturday, October 19, at the Presbyterian church with Rev. Thomas K. Farmer officiating. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville.
     Pallbearers were James and Albert Howard, Lewis Howe, and Jedidiah and Charlie Meade. Honorary bearers were members of the Danville Coffee Club.

She worked as an administrator at Old Salem in Winston-Salem, NC, she was a librarian at the Wake Forest University Law Library and a researcher, later becoming the Kentucky State Law Librarian at the State Capitol in Frankfort. Whether she was spending hours walking through a museum, playing a piano duet with a friend, teaching ballroom dancing to Centre students or just painting a watercolor of a flower, the arts were always an important part of her life. Her adventurous spirit for travel and cooking where shared and passed onto her children.      Nola A. (Meade) Lemaster, 92, of Chillicothe, died at 4:00pm Wednesday December 5, 2007, in Westmoreland Place.
     Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday December 8 in the Haller Funeral Home with Elder Don Woods officiating. Graveside services will be held 1:00pm Sunday, December 9, in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, KY. Friends may call Saturday from 12-2pm at Haller Funeral Home.
     Nola Angeline Meade was born March 15, 1915, in Magoffin County, KY, to Wannie Clay and Mary Alice (Wheeler) Meade. Both parents died in the flu epidemic of 1918 and Nola and five of her siblings were taken to an orphanage sponsored by the Junior Order of United American Mechanics, which her father belonged to. This orphanage was in Tiffin, OH. All six children who were sent to the orphanage valued the good education and moral values they learned there. One sister, Eulah, was only a baby and could not go with them. She was raised by family members.
     On August 17, 1938, she married Delbert W. Lemaster and together they had three children: Darryl (Frankie) LeMaster of Boynton Beach, FL; Chloe (Jim) Schauseil, of Chillicothe; and a daughter Gloria Jean Lemaster, who died as a child. In addition to her son and daughter, she is survived by grandchildren: Darryl (Debbie) LeMaster, Ft. Myers, FL; Robin (Mike) Thompson, Boynton Beach, FL; Tracy (David) Bonilla, Flowery Branch, GA; Stephen (Deanne) Schauseil, Canal Winchester; and Gina (Brad) DePoy, Chillicothe; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 new great-granddaughter due in February 2008. In addition to her husband, daughter and parents, she was predeceased by brothers Lloyd, Rollie, Tollie, and Albert Meade; and sisters Eulah Fairchild, and Chloe Baker.
     Mrs. Lemaster and her late husband were co-owners and operators of Lemaster’s Grocery located on old Route 124 west of Jackson, OH from the mid 1950’s until 1974 when they retired. They enjoyed knowing and serving their neighborhood all of those years.
     All who knew her knew she loved to cook and bake for her family and her love of beautiful flowers. She will be sadly missed.
