Rice was born and died on December 1, 1910, and that Ishamel Rice lived from March 19, 1914 to March 30, 1914 [mistake - 1915], and was buried in the same cemetery.

According to his obituary, Floyd Rice (age 93), son of Thomas Jefferson and Mary Liza Caudill Rice, was a farmer and a resident of Georgetown, Kentucky, at the time of his death. Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of her headstone shows that Sarah E. Conley, wife of A. C. Conley lived from 1867 to 1924, and was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio. A listing found online of the people buried in that cemetery confirms this.

According to his death certificate (shared by his great-granddaughter, Teresa Marie Aloisio-Bevan), A. C. Conley died November 16, 1948 in New Boston, Scioto County, Ohio, from arteriosclerosis. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Magoffin County, Kentucky, his birth date as June 12, 1870, his marital status as widowed, his wife as Sarah Conley, his occupation as retired brick worker, his parents as Jas Conley (b.      "A. C. conley, 78, died at 11:18 a. m. Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Forest DeLotell, 4383 Rhodes av, New Boston, of a heart ailment. Death followed a serious illness of eight weeks. Mr. Conley had resided with the daughter for the last two years. He was born June 12, 1870 in Magoffin co. KY., a son of James and Eliza Jackson Conley. He was married to Sarah Yates Dec. 22, 1888, and moved to Portsmouth on Milldale rd in 1912.
     "Surviving are seven children, Amos Conley of Cove, Mrs. Mary Lewis of Ashland, Mrs. Samantha Mingus of Lucasville, Mrs. DeLotell, David Conley of Lucasville, Mrs. Lucy Dockery of Fremont and Mrs. Jamima McIntire of Chillicothe; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Musser and Mrs. Janoah Ray both of Catlettsburg and Mrs. Martha Lowe of Greenup; 55 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. The parents, the wife and three children preceded him in death, the children were Mrs. Rosa Salyer, Mrs. Agnes Johnson, and Mrs. Noami Moore."

Dennis Rice married (2) CLARA MARIE LUEDTKE, daughter of KARL AUGUST LUEDTKE and CHRISTINE ELSOBE KRÖGER, in 1919. She was born June 18, 1894 in Minnesota, died October 2, 1984 in Garner, Hancock County, Iowa, and is buried in Elmhurst Cemetery in Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota.

Notes: A handwritten note found on ancestry.com written by one of the Luedtke children shows that Karl August Lüdtke was born January 14, 1840 in Königsberg, Province Posen, West Preusen (Prussia), and died in September of 1928, and that Christine Elsobe Kröger was born March 4, 1853 in Todesfelde, Schleswig, Holstein, and died January 8, 1928. It also lists all of the children, including Clara Marie, and says that she lived from June 18, 1894 to October 2, 1985 [1984], and died at at 90 years and 3 months.

When Dennis Burns Rice's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Darlington, La Fayette County, Wisconsin, he stated that he was a physician and a municipal health officer, that his closest relative was "Addie Rice Wife" of Darlington, and that he was born June 17, 1883. He was found to be short, of medium build, and he had brown eyes and dark-colored hair and was balding.

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of their headstone shows that Dennis B. Rice lived from June 17, 1883 to November 4, 1964, and was buried in Elmhurst Cemetery in Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, and that Clara M. Luedtke Rice lived from June 18, 1894 to October 2, 1984, and was buried in the same cemetery.

According to her death certificate, Addie Bayes Rice died February 9, 1930 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, from uremia. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Kentucky, her birth date as March 7, 1881, her marital status as married, her parents as J. B. Bayes (b. Kentucky) and Amanda Rice (b. Kentucky), the informant as Robert Rice of Paintsville, Kentucky, and the burial place as Rice Cemetery.

According to her obituary found on The Johnson County Historical & Genealogical Society's website:

     "Mrs. Addie Bayes Rice, mother of Dr. Robert Rice, died last Sunday afternoon in the Paintsville Hospital. She was taken to the hospital Sunday morning in serious condition suffering from poison caused by kidney trouble. Her condition was then thought serious, but her death came sooner than expected. She was in the store of her son on Saturday and the Saturday preceding her death. For many years she had been in poor health. Mrs Rice was a member of the Mayo memorial church of Paintsville and was a devoted Christian woman with many friends. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Bayes and a member of one of the county's most prominent and influential families. One son, Dr. Robert Rice, owner and proprietor of Rice's Drug Store survives her. In her death this city and county lose a valuable and noble character and her passing is keenly felt by our people."

According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Addie Rice died February 9, 1930 in Johnson County at the age of 48.

According to his obituary found on The Johnson County Historical & Genealogical Society's website:

     "Dr. Dennis Burns Rice, 81, a retired physician and pioneer in the field of genetics, died November 4, at his home at Rowland Station, Tennessee, following an illness of several months. He was a native of Paintsville. Dr. Rice graduated from the University of Louisville, and from 1917 through 1919 he served as assistant superintendent of the City- Country Hospital in St. Paul. In 1924 he established the Britton Clinic and hospital in Britton, S. D., and later turned it over to the people of Britton for operation. Dr. Rice endowed the University of Louisville with $250,000, the largest endowment ever received by this university. In 1948 he retired from the practice of medicine and moved to Rowland Station in 1954 with his wife, the former Miss Clara M. Luedtke, whom he married in 1919. A breeder of Standard-bred trotters and pacers, his horses won a number of world championships, and in 1930 he established stables at neighboring Winchester, Tennessee. He continued to operate them until 1944, when they were moved to Britton. He also owned and operated two ranches in South Dakota. Dr. Rice recently established a scholarship fund at the University of Louisville, his alma mater, to aid young doctors. While a resident of Warren County he continued his keen interest in horses, fox hunting, and nature study. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Tullahoma, and was instrumental in the organization of a Lutheran Church in McMinnville. Survivors, in addition to his widow, include a son, Robert Rice of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandchildren, James Clinton Rice and Dennis Parker Rice, both of Phoenix; two brothers, Mose Rice and Crate Rice of Paintsville, and four sisters, Mrs. Maude Colvin of Dayton, Mrs. Emma Vance of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Grace Preston of Hillsboro, O., and Mrs. Erie Nichols of Marion, O. Two great-grand children also survive."

Notes: When Amous [sic] Conley's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, he stated that he was working for Whitaker-Glessner Company in Portsmouth, that he was single, and that he was born November 25, 1893. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had brown eyes and brown hair.

When Amos Conley's World War II draft registration card was filled out on April 27, 1942 in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, he stated that he was self-employed, that the person who would always know his address was Mr. A. C. Conley of New Boston, Ohio, and that he was born November 25, 1893 in Boyd County, Kentucky. He was found to be 6 feet 1/4 inch tall, he weighed 199 pounds, and he had brown eyes, brown hair, and a ruddy complexion.

According to Ohio death records, there was an Ella Conley who died March 30, 1938 in Cincinnati.

Information found on findagrave.com, shows that there was a "Sgt. Amos Conley" who lived from November 25, 1892 to November 17, 1967, and was buried in Stockdale Cemetery in Stockdale, Pike County, Ohio. No photo of his headstone was provided.

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of their headstone shows that Goldie Veach lived from 1906 to 1987, and was buried in section 8 in South Webster Cemetery in South Webster, Scioto County, Ohio, and that Alva Veach lived from 1904 to 1934, and was buried in the same cemetery.

A partial transcript of her obituary shows that Goldie E. Veach Conley was born about 1906, and died July 13, 1987 in Washington Court House, Ohio, at the age of 81. Her 1st husband is listed as Alva Veach, and her 2nd as Amos Conley.

Mingus (July 26, 1916 - June 23, 1981, Pvt. U.S. Army WWII), Gipsy M. Mingus (March 24, 1912 - August 13, 1987 - shared headstone with Earl), Amos Mingus (January 7, 1918 - January 31, 1984, Pvt U.S. Army WWII), and Esther M. Mingus (b. March 20, 1920, no death date), were all buried there. Oscar L. Mingus (1924 - 1925) is buried there as well, and the way that the names are listed, it appears that Oscar was the child of Samantha and Pete.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, H. G. Watkins (age 20) married Cynthia Riggs (age 19) on December 8, 1887 in Johnson County.

Information found on Johnson County Historical Society's website, and a photo of their headstone found on ancestry.com, shows that Henry G. Watkins lived from January 23, 1867 to November 12, 1926, and was buried in Denver Hill Cemetery in Denver, Johnson County, Kentucky, and that Cynthia A. Watkins lived from March 4, 1869 to April 3, 1942, and was buried in the same cemetery. There was also a Crate Watkins who lived from 1903 to 1905, and was buried close by. Crate will be listed as a son here. Cynthia states that she had given birth to 4 children and all were still living in 1900, and in 1910 she said that she had given birth to 7 children and 6 were still living.

According to her obituary, Cynthia Alice Watkins (age 73 years 29 days), was a resident of Johnson County for many years. She died April 3, 1942 at the Salyersville home of her daughter, Mrs. Kash Arnett, and was buried in Denver Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Watkins. She was survived by 3 sons, Bart Watkins (of Huntington, West Virginia), Worth Watkins (of Huntington), and Marvin Watkins (of Huntington); 3 daughters, Mrs. Mose Rice (Paintsville), Mrs. Wilson Salyer (Salyersville), and Mrs. Kash Arnett; and 1 brother. According to his obituary, Mose Rice (age 85), son of the late Clint and Alice Johnson Rice, was a farmer and a lifelong resident of Staffordsville. He died suddenly on January 9, 1971 in the Staffordsville home of his daughter, Mrs. Orbin Spradlin, and was buried in the family cemetery in Hager Hill.       Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website and a photo of their headstone shows that Henry Rice lived from 1914 to 1997, and was buried in Mayo Cemetery in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and that Mae Rice lived from 1918 to 1990, and was buried in the same cemetery.
      According to his obituary, Henry Rice (age 82), son of the late Mose and Mattie Watkins Rice, was a blacktop plant operator. He was born July 2, 1914 in Johnson County, died March 28, 1997 at home in Denver, Kentucky, and was buried in Mayo Cemetery in Paintsville. In additionto his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Cantrell Rice. He was survived by 1 son, Larry Joe Rice (of Lexington); 1 daughter, Stella V. Preston (Paintsville); 2 sisters, Martha Jean Spradlin (Hager Hill) and Mary Lou Caudill (Staffordsville); and 5 grandchildren. He was born March 14, 1917 in Johnson County, died at home in Paintsville on January 20, 1967 following a sudden illness, and was buried in Rice Cemetery in Hager Hill.       According to his obituary, Hugh Allen Rice (age 16), son of Mr. and Mrs. Mose Rice Paintsville, was "run over and instantly killed on the Kenova, W. Va., bridge last Thursday morning, October 14." "The youth had been visiting relatives in Ohio and was en route to the home of his uncle in Ashland. The bridge has two railroad tracks and according to infomation reaching here Mr. Rice became confused and stepped from the path of a passing train into the path of a passenger train. The train did not crush the body but the impact crushed the back of his hand and a slight bruise was discernable on the forehead. Following the accident his family was notified and an ambulance of the Paintsville Furniture Company brought the body to Paintsville for funeral and burial." In addition to his parents, he was survived by 2 brothers, Henry Rice (attending school in Memphis, Tennessee) and Charles Clay Rice (U.S. Army in Fort Harrison, Indiana); and 3 sisters, Mrs. Bill Harrington (Paintsville), Martha Gene Rice (at home), and Mary Lou Rice (at home).
