She was born April 16, 1875 in Kentucky, died June 5, 1938 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Conley, Magoffin County, Kentucky.

Enoch M. Bailey was the brother of Nancy Jane Bailey, Alexander Bailey, John Quincy Adams Bailey, and Narcissus Bailey, 2nd wife of Gilbert Adams.

In this family there is a 1 year old boy named Archie the 1910 census. In 1920 there is nobody named Archie but there is an 11 year old named John W. In 1930 there is a 21 year old son named Wallis. It's unknown where the name Archie came from, but these 3 will all be listed as the same son - John Wallace.

According to his death certificate, John J. Pace died December 18, 1930 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, from Brights disease and valvular heart disease. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Kentucky, his birth date as June 7, 1869, his marital status as married, his occupation as farmer, his parents as Matthew Pace (b. "J. J. Pace, age 60, one of the most prominent citizens of Magoffin County, died at the home of his son, C. F. Pace, in Paintsville last Thursday night. Mr. Pace has been in ill health for more than a year. A few days before his death his condition became worse and he came to Paintsville to receive treatment at a local hospital. He died suddenly at the home of his son from acute heart disease brought about by poisoning of his system from Bright’s disease from which he was a sufferer. Mr. Pace is survived by his widow and a number of children, including C. F. Pace of Paintsville. Mrs. Pace is a sister of Judge J. F. Bailey of Paintsville. The body was taken to Magoffin county for burial in the home burial grounds."

Pace Cottle Malone lived from 1883 to 1956, and was buried in Bennett Cemetery in Minford, Scioto County, Ohio, and that Bennie Pace, "Son of ALBERT & MARY PACE," was born and died on April 3, 1899, and was buried in Crace Cemetery in Ivyton, Magoffin County, Kentucky.

"Mrs. Pace worked for 37 years at Heather Hill Hospital in the housekeeping department where she earned several awards of recognition, including an award for 25 years of service.

"Survivors are her children, Alberta Maresh and Ella Faye Gibbons, both of Chardon, William (Pam) of Huntsburg, Cleo (James) Corley of New Jersey, Dean (Sharon) of Mansfield, Alan Sr. (Calla) of New York, James (Shelia) of Windham, Mary Lynn (Randy) Fisher of North Carolina; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Ivy Diatley of Cleveland; and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Pace of Columbus.

M. Rice, Barnetts Creek, Ky.; Wilson Rice Manilla, Ky., and Mantford Rice of Ohio, and a host of relatives. Funeral services were conducted from the home Friday, January 4, in charge of Revs. Millard O’Bryan, Rhodes Preston, J. H. Pickle and Frank Arms. Burial took place in the H. M. Rice cemetery on Barnetts Creek. The heart broken family have the sympathy of this entire community."

     "Leck Rice deceased this life January 3, 1935, after a short illness. He was born October 22, 1870, being 64 years of age. He was raised in Johnson county and was married to Miss Lottie Ealey May 30, 1900, and to this union was born four children: Mrs. Kelly Picklesimer, of South Vienna, Ohio; Mrs. G. S. Blanton, of Barnetts Creek; Mr. John J. Rice, of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Mrs. W. W. Trimble, of Pilgrim, Ky. In his passing his wife has lost a loving and faithful husband, his children a kind and loving father, and the county one of its best citizens. Dear father is gone, To mansions on high, Where troubles never come. He is repaired to Jesus Where he has eased his troubled mind."

When Dr. Grant Rice's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was practicing medicine in Oil Springs, Johnson County, that his closest relative as Sina Rice, and that he was born December 31, 1872. He was found to be tall, of medium build, and he had blue eyes and dark gray hair.

Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website and a photo of their headstone shows that Grant Rice lived from December 31, 1872 to April 18, 1970, and was buried in Grant Rice Cemetery in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky, and that Sina Rice lived from June 27, 1875 to March 17, 1947, and was buried in the same cemetery.

According to his obituary found on the obituary page of the Johnson County Historical & Genealogical Society's website:

     "A 1904 graduate of the Louisville School of Medicine, Dr. Grant Rice, died in a Huntington, W. Va. hospital on April 18 1970. The lifelong Oil Springs resident was 97. On April 21 services were held at the Oil Springs Methodist Church, with Lonza Reed and Frank Spillman presiding. The Paintsville Funeral Home took charge of burial at the family cemetery nearby. Dr. Rice, a 32nd Degree Mason, was born almost a century ago to John and Polly Salyer Rice of Johnson County. He married the late Sina Caudill Rice. Survivng sons are Wayne, Wade and Carl Rice from Oil Springs. Others still living include a daughter from Oil Springs, Mrs. Hazel Rice, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren."

She was survived by her husband, Dr. Grant Rice, whom she married in 1897; 3 sons, Wayne Rice, Wade Rice, and Carl Rice (all of Oil Springs); 1 daughter, Mrs. Eschel Rice (Oil Springs); 1 brother, Ben Caudill (Fairborn, Ohio); 13 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website and a photo of their headstone shows that Wilson Rice lived from January 1, 1882 to February 13, 1964, and was buried in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery in Staffordsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and that Sarah Jemima Auxier Rice lived from September 20, 1877 to March 19, 1939, and was buried in the same cemetery. This is a cemetery that was used extensively for re-interment of burials from other cemeteries due to the construction of Paintsville Lake and road construction throughout Johnson County.

According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Wilson Rice died February 24, 1964 in Johnson County at the age of 91.

According to her death certificate, Sarah Gemima Auxier Rice died March 18, 1941 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, from a ruptured appendix. According to Army enlistment records, Jesse Salyer, a 23-year-old farmer from Barnetts Creek, enlisted in the 6th Infantry of the U.S. Army on January 29, 1891 in Lexington, Kentucky. He was 5 feet 10 inches tall, he had blue eyes, brown hair, and a light complexion. He was discharged on February 15, 1891 in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, with an unnamed disability.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Mary Ellen Rice (age 16) married Jesse Salyer (age 24) on February 12, 1892 in Johnson County.

Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website and a photo of their headstone shows that M. E. Salyer lived from November 30, 1875 to June 22, 1932, and was buried in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery in Staffordsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and that D. J. Salyer lived from February 24, 1867 to February 11, 1950, and was buried in the same cemetery. This is a cemetery that was used extensively for re-interment of burials from other cemeteries due to the construction of Paintsville Lake and road construction throughout Johnson County.

According to her death certificate, Ellen Salyer died June 22, 1932 in Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky, from a ruptered gall bladder. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Kentucky, her birth date as November 30, 1875, her marital status as married, her husband as David J. Salyer, her parents as John J. Rice (b. Kentucky) and Mary Salyers (b. Kentucky), the informant as D. J. Salyer of Barnetts Creek, and the burial place as Barnetts Creek.

According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Ellen Salyer died June 22, 1932 in Johnson County at the age of 56.

When Walter Spradlin's World War II draft registration card was filled out on April 26, 1942 in Circleville, Pickaway County, Ohio, he stated that he was self-employed in Mt. Sterling, that the person who would always know his address was Hedges Hill of Orient, Ohio, and that he was born December 6, 1891 in McGulfin Co., Kentucky [sic]. He was found to be 5 feet 11 inches tall, he weighed 250 pounds, and he had blue eyes, gray hair, and a light-complexion.

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of their headstone shows that Nola Spradlin lived from 1892 to 1978, and was buried in Pleasant Cemetery in Mount Sterling, Madison County, Ohio, and that Walter Spradlin lived from 1891 to 1950, and was buried in the same cemetery.

She received her Social Security card prior to 1951 in Ohio, her last place of residence was in Mount Sterling, Madison County, Ohio, and her last benefit was paid out in Orient, Pickaway County, Ohio.

He married MARY REBECCA H. "REBECCA" LITTERAL, daughter of WILEY LITTERAL and REBECCA JANE PACE, January 22, 1891 in Johnson County, Kentucky. She was born October 4, 1870 in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky, died April 18, 1949 in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in the family cemetery in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky.

According to his obituary, James H. Salyer (age 93), son of the late James and Allie Blanton Salyer, was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of Oil Springs. He was born March 27, 1866 in Johnson County, died Friday, October 9, 1959 at home in Oil Springs, and was buried in the family cemetery in Oil Springs. He was survived by 5 sons, Harvie Salyer (of Oil Springs), Dewey Salyer (Logan, West Virginia), Beecher Salyer (Irwin, Ohio), Mitchell Salyer (Springfield, Ohio), and Dee Salyer (Columbus, Ohio); 3 daughters, Cassie Blevins (Waverly, Kentucky), Hazel Hall (Powell, Ohio), and Ethel Mae Salyer (West Liberty, Ohio); 3 brothers, Clint Salyer (Irwin, Ohio), William Salyer (Ivyton, Kentucky), and Sam Salyer (Cleveland, Ohio); 1 sister, Mrs. Minnie Phelps (Portsmouth, Ohio); 60 grandchildren; and 95 great-grandchildren. Salyer; 5 sons, Harvey Salyer (of Oil Springs), Dewey Salyer (Switzer, West Virginia), Deedie Salyer (Columbus, Ohio), Beecher Salyer (Worthington, Ohio), and Mitchell Salyer (Urbana, Ohio); 4 daughters, Mrs. Eru Caudill (Xenia, Ohio), Mrs. Cassie Blevins (Waverly, Kentucky), Mrs. Hazel Hall (Powell, Ohio), and Mrs. Ethel May Salyer (West Liberty, Kentucky); 3 brothers, Luther Litteral, Luster Litteral, and C.
