    Enoch M. Bailey was the brother of Nancy Jane Bailey, Alexander Bailey, John Quincy Adams Bailey, and Narcissus Bailey, 2nd wife of Gilbert Adams.

    In this family there is a 1 year old boy named Archie the 1910 census. In 1920 there is nobody named Archie but there is an 11 year old named John W. In 1930 there is a 21 year old son named Wallis. It's unknown where the name Archie came from, but these 3 will all be listed as the same son - John Wallace.

He was found to be tall, of medium build, and he had blue eyes and dark gray hair.

    According to his obituary, "A 1904 graduate of the Louisville School of Medicine, Dr. Grant Rice, died in a Huntington, W. Va. hospital on April 18 1970. The lifelong Oil Springs resident was 97. On April 21 services were held at the Oil Springs Methodist Church, with Lonza Reed and Frank Spillman presiding. The Paintsville Funeral Home took charge of burial at the family cemetery nearby. Dr. Rice, a 32nd Degree Mason, was born almost a century ago to John and Polly Salyer Rice of Johnson County. He married the late Sina Caudill Rice. Survivng sons are Wayne, Wade and Carl Rice from Oil Springs. Others still living include a daughter from Oil Springs, Mrs. Hazel Rice, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren."     According to her death certificate, Ellen Salyer died June 22, 1932 in Barnetts Creek from a ruptered gall bladder.     When Walter Spradlin's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Oil Springs, Johnson County, that he was married, that he should be exempt from the draft because he had rheumatism, and that he was born December 26, 1891 in Wheelersburg, Kentucky. He was found to be tall and stout, and he had blue eyes and light-colored hair.

She received her Social Security card prior to 1951 in Ohio, her last place of residence was in Mount Sterling, Madison County, Ohio, and her last benefit was paid out in Orient, Pickaway County, Ohio.

    JOHN M. SALYER, son of JAMES M. SALYER and SARAH BLANTON, was born in April of 1865 in Kentucky. He married (1) NERVESTA H. YATES, daughter of ALEXANDER YATES and MALISSA A. COLEMAN, May 15, 1889. She was born in January of 1866 in Kentucky, and died before 1910. He married (2) DORA ADAMS. She was born about 1894 in Kentucky.

    Nervesta H. Yates was the sister of Celesta Charlotte Yates, Fitzhugh Lee Yates, and possibly Easter V. Caudill, the wife of John Q.A. Caudill.

    Malissa Coleman's maiden name was determined by finding her death certificate and also by finding the death certificate of her son Fitzhugh. According to her death certificate, Malissa Coleman Yates was born March 26, 1849 (although she's 2 years old in the 1850 census), died January 11, 1929 in Oil Springs, Johnson County, and is buried in Oil Springs. Her parents are listed as Peter and Hester Coleman. Hester's last name is hard to read. The transcript shows her last name to be "Bune". Alexander Yates died in Oil Springs in 1919 and there isn't any info on his death certificate that is useful.

    Alexander Yates was the son of James and Elizabeth Yates, who moved their family from Virginia to Floyd County, Kentucky, in the early 1840s.

He was born January 14, 1866 in Johnson County, Kentucky, died April 18, 1948 in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in the family cemetery in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky.

    According to her death certificate, Louisa Caudill died May 12, 1935 in Oil Springs from carcinoma of the liver. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Kentucky, her birth date as May 12, 1935 [mistake], her age as 67 years 6 months and 5 days, her marital status as married, her husband as Able Caudill, her parents as James Rice (b. Kentucky) and Nancy Jayne Salyers (b. Kentucky), and the informant as Able Caudill of Oil Springs.

    According to his obituary, Abel C. Caudill (age 82), son of the late Jack and Rebecca Harris Caudill, was one of a family of 10, all of whom preceded him in death. He was born January 14, 1866 in Johnson County, died April 18, 1948 at home in Oil Springs following a long illness, and was buried in the family cemetery. He was married to Louise Rice in 1880. He was survived by 6 daughters, Mrs. Boe Trimble (of Oil Springs), Mrs. Roy Colvin (Oil Springs), Mrs. Elbert Reed (Oil Springs), Mrs. Arthur Kelsay (Oil Springs), Mrs. James Caudill (Clay City, Kentucky), Mrs. Walter Caudill (Hammond, Indiana); 28 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.     According to his obituary, Winfrey Ward Caudill (age 45), son of Millard and Nannie Ward Caudill, was a drilling contractor in the gas and oil fields. He was born December 21, 1905 in Magoffin County, and died January 10, 1951 in Paintsville from a heart condition. He married Ruie Rice on December 24, 1926 in Oil Springs, who survived him. Their children's death certificate's and obituaries show that Simon Picklesimer married Sarah Rice, and Kentucky death records show that Sarah Litteral died in 1857.

    Sarah Rice Picklesimer's name is listed as Doll in her daughter Teria's death certificate.

    Simon Picklesimer was the brother of Manerva Picklesimer and Lydia Picklesimer. Judith Lemaster was his father's 2nd wife, the first being Mary Barnett.

    Judith Lemaster was the sister of Thomas Lemaster, James P. Lemaster, Mary Almeda Lemaster and Zilpha Lemaster.

    A photo of their headstone in the Mitchell Price Cemetery in Oil Springs shows that Sarah C. Picklesimer was born December 22, 1873, and died April 25, 1954, and Simon Picklesimer was born November 5, 1872, and died December 4, 1964.

    According to Kentucky birth records, Sarah Rice was born December 21, 1874 in Magoffin County to James Rice (b. Floyd County) and Nancy Salyer (b. Floyd County).

    When Simon P. Picklesimer's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Oil Springs, Johnson County, that his closest relative was "Sarah C. Picklesimer Wife" of Oil Springs, and that he was born November 5, 1872. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had brown eyes and dark gray hair.

    According to Ohio death record transcripts, Simon Picklesimer was born about 1872, and died December 4, 1964 in Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Montgomery County, at the age of 92. He was widowed and living in Dayton at the time of his death.
