SAMUEL H. LEE was born about 1795 in Massachusetts. He married AMELIA (unknown last name). She was born about 1796 in Connecticut, and died before 1860.

Notes: Although there's no proof at this time, Samuel Lee is probably a descendant of William and Eunice Hotchkiss Lee of Connecticut. According to Guilford, Connecticut records, William and Eunice had a son by the name of Reuben who was born September 28, 1773. Reuben can be found in Bloomfield, New York in 1800 and is still there in 1850, although it's West Bloomfield then. His birthplace is listed as Connecticut and he's 77 years old. His wife is Lois Hall and she's born in Connecticut and 77 years old, as well. Samuel turns up in the Bloomfield census as the head of a household in 1820. Reuben is on page 7 of that census and Samuel is on page 2. In Reuben's house in 1810, there are 3 males under the house of 10 years old and 1 between 10 and 15. It's possible that the son that's between the ages of 10 and 15 is Samuel.

In the 1800 census for Bloomfield in Ontario County, New York, there is only 1 Lee that is a head of the household and that is Reuben. There are several more in other parts of the county. Reuben is between the ages of 26 and 44.

In the 1810 census for Bloomfield in Ontario County, New York, there are several different Lee families. The heads of household are listed as: William (between the ages of 26 and 44, page 7), Reuben (between 26 and 44, page 7), Jona (45 or over, page 8), Noble (between 26 and 44, page 10), Amos (45 or over, page 14), and George (between 26 and 44, page 14).

On page 2 of the 1820 census for Victor in Ontario County, New York, Samuel Lee is listed as the head of his household. In this house are 1 male between the ages of 16 and 18, 1 male between 16 and 26, 1 male between 26 and 45, 2 females under 10, and 1 famale between 16 and 26.
