Pearl Howard married (1) (unknown first name) SELLARS.

    Notes: According to the book "The Conley Clan of Eastern Kentucky," published and sold by The Magoffin County Historical Society (page 76), Malcomb B. Penix was married first to a Martha Ann Jenkins on September 1, 1906, and then to Pearly Sellars on October 10, 1908. This doesn't match the census reports, though. The 1910 census clearly shows Malcom as being on his first marriage and married for 7 years. Pearl is on her 2nd and has a daughter from her first marriage living with her. The 1930 census shows that Malcom was first married at age 22, which would be about 1902.

He was born in March of 1853 in Wise County, Virginia, died May 29, 1942 in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in the family cemetery in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky.

    Notes: According to her death certificate, Sarah Elizabeth Long died January 23, 1923 in Johnson County from acute broncho pneumonia. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Kentucky, her birthdate as August 28, 1852, her marital status as married, her parents as Amos Colvin (b. Kentucky) and Polly Mahan (b. Kentucky), and the informant as Floyd Long of Oil Springs, Kentucky.

    According to his obituary, W.W. Long (age 89), son of Joel D. and Lottie Vanover Long, died from a stroke at home in Oil Springs on May 29, 1942, and was buried in the home cemetery. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and black hair. Not being able to read or write, he signed the card with an "X."

    According to Social Security death record transcripts, Arthur Conley was born September 10, 1900, and died in November of 1983. He received his Social Security prior to 1951 in Ohio, and his last place of residence was in Lenox, Morgan County, Kentucky.

    According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Arthur Conley died November 7, 1983 in Rowan County at the age of 83. He was living in Morgan County at the time of his death.

    Emma Day's maiden name was determined by finding the birth records of 2 of her children. Her family is found in house #250 on page 26 of the 1920 census for District 197 (West Liberty) in Morgan County, Kentucky, and in the family are 2 young children, Opie (age 6) and Ora (age 4). According to Kentucky birth record transcripts, Opie McClain was born February 8, 1913 in Morgan County to Emma Day, and Ora McClain was born May 7, 1915 in Morgan County to Emma Day.

    According to Ohio death record transcripts, 2 of Harry McClain's brothers died in Middletown, Butler County, the same place that Harry's widow died. Newton McClain was born about 1904 in Kentucky, and died August 21, 1984, and Ford McClain was born December 18, 1908 in Kentucky, and died April 12, 1998. Ford's father's surname is listed as McClain and his mother's maiden name is listed as Day.

MAY, son of CALEB MAY and SARAH PELPHREY, November 27, 1893. He was born about 1858 in Floyd County, Kentucky, and died January 1, 1928 in Sandsuck, Greenup County, Kentucky. David May married (1) GENOA ELLA WITTEN, daughter of WILLIAM P. WITTEN and MARY JANE DIXON, December 24, 1878 in Johnson County, Kentucky. She was born October 7, 1859 in Johnson County, Kentucky, and died January 28, 1893 in Johnson County, Kentucky.

    Notes: Genoa Witten was the sister of Julia Witten.

    According to Kentucky birth records, Jenoah E. Witten was born October 7, 1859 in Johnson County, Kentucky, to William P. Witten and Mary J. Dixon.

    According to Kentucky marriage records, David May and Genoa Witten were married December 24, 1878 in Johnson County, Kentucky, which is where they were both living at the time.
