Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website shows that Beulah Williams Hill lived from May 14, 1918 to January 14, 1954, and is buried in Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Staffordsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and that Hobert Hill lived from June 5, 1918 to March 19, 1993, and is buried in the same cemetery. No headstone photos are provided. This is a cemetery that was used extensively for re-interment of burials from other cemeteries due to the construction of Paintsville Lake and road construction throughout Johnson County.

According to her obituary, Beulah Williams Hill (age 35) of Mine Fork, daughter of the late Everett Williams and Grace Carpenter Williams, was a lifelong resident of Minefork, Kentucky. She was born May 14, 1918, and died in a local hospital from burns that she received while preparing her 2 small daughters for bed. She came too close to an open grate in her home and her clothing caught fire. Her husband rushed to her aid and attempted to smother the flames with a blanket but she ran outside where the flaming clothing caused her fatal burns. She was buried in the family cemetery in Win, Johnson County. She was survived by her mother; her husband, Hobart Hill; 2 sons, Willis and Ellis; 2 daughters, Martha and Delilah; and 1 sister, Mrs. Eulah Cantrell. BURLEY SALYER, son of MARY JACKSON and WILLIAM A. SALYER, was born March 30, 1899 in Kentucky, and died before 1930. He married ZOLA VANDERPOOL, daughter of SHERMAN VANDERPOOL and RONA ARNETT. She was born November 25, 1899 in Kentucky, died May 22, 1980 in Lima, Allen County, Ohio, and is buried in Wiley Arnett Cemetery in Magoffin County, Kentucky. Zola Vanderpool married (2) GALEN ARNETT, son of and ADALINE ARNETT and (unknown). He was born June 30, 1901 in Kentucky, died April 29, 1974, and is buried in Wiley Arnett Cemetery in Magoffin County, Kentucky.

Notes: Sherman Vanderpool was a witness at Burley's sister, Rachel's wedding.

There were two Adaline Arnetts who were born about the same time in Magoffin County. One was married to Joseph G. Arnett, and Arnett was her married name. Her maiden name was reportedly Adaline Patton. The other Adaline Arnett was the mother of Galen. Adaline, Galen's mother, is listed as single in 1900, and the daughter of Betty Arnett. She has 4 children. In 1910 she's listed as single, she's still living with her mother, and it doesn't say how many children that she's had, but there are now 5 in the house, including Galen. In 1920 she's listed as widowed, and she has 2 children living with her, Tropher and Galen.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Sherman Vanderpool married Rona Arnett on May 7, 1898 in Magoffin County at the home of Wiley Arnett. The witnesses were Russell Arnett and John Barnett, and the minister was George Bailey.

When Bearlie Salyer's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer, that his closest relative was Mary Salyer of Bradley, Magoffin County, and that he was born March 30, 1900. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and red hair. Not being able to read or write, he signed the card with an "X."

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of their headstone shows that Zola Arnett lived from November 25, 1899 to May 22, 1980, was buried in Wiley Arnett Cemetery in Magoffin County, Kentucky, and that Galen Arnett lived from June 30, 1901 to April 29, 1974, and was buried in the same cemetery.

      According to his obituary, Akle Salyer (age 85), son of the late Burley Salyer and Zola Vanderpool-Arnett, was a graduate of Ohio State Barber College, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and a resident of Kirkersville. He died April 11, 2009, and was buried in Kirkersville Cemetery. He married Virginia Ethel Howard on December 24, 1945, and was married to her for 63 years. To them were born 2 sons, Billy Joe Salyer and Bobby Neal Salyer, both of whom preceded him in death; and 2 daughters, Judy Gail Salyer-Norman (of Columbus, Ohio) and Melody Ann Salyer-Gintert (Pickerington, Ohio). She married FRANK MINIX, son of ADD MINIX and DELILAH VANDERPOOL, about 1918. He was born April 23, 1899 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, died June 19, 1975 in Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan, and is buried in Oaklawn Cemetery in Stockbridge, Ingham County, Michigan.

Notes: According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Add Minix married Delilah Vanderpool on April 15, 1896 in Magoffin County at the home of Butler Vanderpool. The witnesses were Sherman Vanderpool and Butler Vanderpool, and the minister was Riley Howard.

When Frank Minix's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 7, 1918 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, he stated that he was living in Lakeville, Magoffin County, that he was working in the Forge Department for Whitaker Glessner in Scioto County, Ohio, that his closest relative was Della Minix of Lakeville, and that he was born April 23, 1899. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and brown hair.

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of their headstone shows that Rachel Minix lived from 1904 to 1985, and was buried in Section B Plot 43 in Oaklawn Cemetery in Stockbridge, Ingham County, Michigan, and that Frank Minix lived from 1899 to 1975, and was buried in the same plot in the same cemetery. Rachel's parents were buried in the same cemetery.

Oaklawn Cemetery burial listings found online show that Frank Minix lived from 1899 to 1975, and was buried in Plot B-43 in that cemetery, that Rachel Minix lived from 1904 to 1985, was buried in the same plot in the same cemetery, that Raleigh H. Minix lived from May 23, 1926 to March 15, 1945, was buried in the same plot in the same cemetery, that Roland Minix lived from January 16, 1924 to June 13, 1983, was buried in the same cemetery, and that Roy Minix died in May 17, 2003, and was buried in the same cemetery. It also shows that Raleigh was a private in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was awarded the Purple Heart, and that Roland was a Corporal in the U.S. Army in Korea.

He is also found to be 5 feet 6 inches tall and he has hazel eyes and brown hair.

On that petition it says that he lost his rights to his U.S. citizenship by homesteading in Canada about 1918. He married Katherine Bailey on November 10, 1920 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and was now divorced. She was born March 11, 1904 in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Notes: Margaret Love's full name was reportedly Margaret Elizabeth Love, and she was reportedly the daughter of James H. Love and Mary Cheek, and the sister of Arlena Francis Love. Some things just don't add up, though. Margaret and Wash were married on January 23, 1897, and she is listed in the 1900 census as having given birth to 2 children, and both are still alive and living with her. James and Mary Cheek's daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Love is living with them in 1900, she's single, and there are 3 grandchildren in that house, one of which, Winnie, has her parents listed as Ike Howard and Lizzie Love when she died in 1942. Winnie's last name is listed as Love in the 1900 census, and her parents were born in Kentucky. Margeret's birthplace is listed as Kentucky in 1880. The Margaret Love who married Wash Howard is listed as being born in August of 1877 in the 1900 census. The Elizabeth Love who is living with James and Mary Cheek Love is listed as being born in February of 1877 in East Virginia.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Wash Howard married Margaret Love on January 23, 1897 in Magoffin County. The witnesses were B. H. Crace and George Tackett, and the minister was Abijah Slusher.

When George Washington Howard's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer in Wheelersburg, Magoffin County, that his closest relative was Ethel Borders of Cyrus, Magoffin County, and that he he was born April 9, 1874. He was found to be of medium height and stout build, and he had blue eyes and dark gray hair. Not being able to read or write, he signed the card with an "X."

According to his death certificate, Wash Howard died April 19, 1952 in Louisa from chronic myocarditis. He was born May 14, 1884 in Johnson County, Kentucky, and died in March of 1948. Beecher Stapleton married (2) EDNA PICKLESIMER, daughter of DAVID SHERMAN PICKLESIMER and ELLA CAROL PRESTON. She was born about 1907 in Kentucky, died February 24, 1984 in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, and is buried in the family cemetery on Colvin Branch in Johnson County, Kentucky.

When Beecher Stapleton's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer and Deputy Tax Commissioner in Paintsville, that his closest relative was Ollie Stapleton of Manila, Johnson County, and that he was born May 14, 1884. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and black hair.

According to her death certificate, Ollie Colvin Stapleton died February 23, 1935 in Barnetts Creek from apoplexy. According to her obituary, Ollie Colvin Stapleton (age 52), daughter of the late Manford Colvin and Rhena Colvin Trimble (of Manila, Kentucky), died suddenly from a stroke on February 23, 1935 in Barnetts Creek, and was buried in Stapleton Cemetery in Manila. She was in her usual good health up until the time of the stroke, when she placed her hand to her head and said "Oh, my head" and died instantly. She was born in February of 1886 in Kentucky, and died December 17, 1969 in Johnson County, Kentucky. Sola Patrick married (2) DANIEL MANFORD WHEELER, son of GREENVILLE POWERS WHEELER and MELVINA A. WHEELER. He was born January 30, 1878 in Kentucky. Daniel Wheeler married (1) SARAH (unknown last name). He married (2) LILLIE HALL, daughter of JOHN HALL and JOSEPHINE LEMASTER, about 1905. She was born January 15, 1886 in Kentucky, died November 18, 1918 in Flat Fork, Magoffin County, Kentucky, and is buried in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheelersburg, Magoffin County, Kentucky.

Notes: Daniel Manford Wheeler was the brother of James W. Wheeler and B. I. Wheeler, who married Luther's sister, Flora.

There are reports that say that Lillie Hall's parents were John Hall and Josephine Howard but it says that they were John Hall and Josephine Lemaster on her death certificate, which was filled out by Dan Wheeler. Lillie is found living with the Isaac Montgomery family in 1900, her father reportedly dying before 1900 and her mother seemingly disappearing. Isaac's wife's maiden name was Louisa Howard.

When Luther Lemaster's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer in Wheelersburg, Magoffin County, that his closest relative was Sola Lemaster of Wheelersburg, and that he was born April 2, 1885. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and black hair.
