DORCAS FAIRCHILD, daughter of ELIZABETH JANE CONLEY and THOMAS AARON FAIRCHILD, was born September 14, 1884 in Kenwood, Johnson County, Kentucky, died July 23, 1953 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Roscoe Blanton Cemetery in Low Gap, Johnson County, Kentucky. She married WILLIAM ROSCOE "ROSCOE" BLANTON, son of GEORGE WASHINGTON BLANTON and MAHALA ANGELINE NICHOLS, about 1903. He was born June 2, 1882 in Kentucky, died December 9, 1953 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Roscoe Blanton Cemetery in Low Gap, Johnson County, Kentucky.

Notes: Information on this family can be found on page 28 of "The Conley Clan of Eastern Kentucky," published and sold by The Magoffin County Historical Society. In that book it says that Dorcas Fairchild was born in 1884, and married Rosco Blanton. Their children were Ruie Blanton (who married Ollie Conley), Dove Blanton (who married Woodrow McCarty), Guste Blanton (who married Clyde McCarty), Flem Blanton (who married [1] Helen Trimble and married [2] Sina Rice), and Rexford Blanton (who married Patsy McFaddin).

William Roscoe Blanton was the brother of James Alex H. Blanton, Mary E. "Mollie" Blanton, Lourissa A. "Rissie" Blanton, and Cora Blanton.

George Washington Blanton was the brother of Elias Blanton, Sarah Ann Blanton, James Mack Blanton, Sylvester Harmon Blanton, and Mary Blanton.

When Roscoe Blanton's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Kenwood, Johnson County, that his nearest relative was Darcas Blanton of Kenwood, and that he was born June 2, 1882. He was found to be 5 feet 5 inches tall, of medium build, and he had dark brown hair and dark brown eyes.

Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website shows that Dorcas Fairchild Blanton lived from September 14, 1884 to July 23, 1953, and was buried in Roscoe Blanton Cemetery in Low Gap, Johnson County, Kentucky, and that Roscoe Blanton lived from June 2, 1882 to December 9, 1953, and was buried in the same cemetery. Their children Rouie, Flem, and Rexford are also buried in this cemetery. There are no photos of the headstones in this cemetery.

He was born May 18, 1893 in Floyd County, died May 25, 1957 in King's Daughters Hospital in Ashland, and was buried in Patton Cemetery in Cannonsburg. He was born January 18, 1878 in Floyd County, Kentucky, died October 13, 1968 in Prestonsburg, Floyd County, Kentucky, and is buried in Music-Hyden Cemetery in Hager Hill, Johnson County, Kentucky. Alex Morgan Crider married (2) LUCY B. (unknown last name).

Music lived from 1851 to June 30, 1944, and was buried in Music-Hyden Cemetery in Hager Hill, Johnson County, Kentucky, that Nancy A. Music Crider lived from 1856 to November 14, 1936, and was buried in the same cemetery, that Alex M. Crider lived from January 18, 1879 to October 13, 1968, and was buried in the same cemetery, and that June L. Conley Crider lived from December 31, 1886 to January 2, 1945, and was buried in the same cemetery. It also says that: "In Hager Hill, Johnson County Ky, at the Intersection of 1428 and 825. The road leading to this Cemetery is located behind a Marathon Filling Station, and goes up the hill to the top of hill. (Access is poor and ya may have to walk half-way up) Mainly 4 wheel drive access."

According to his obituary, Samuel M. Crider (age 92 years 8 months 4 days), was a resident of Little Paint above East Point, was a blacksmith by trade and the knives made by hime were considered the best that could be made. He died June 29, 1944 at home, and was buried next to his wife int the family lot in Hager Hill. He was survived by 4 sons, Alex Crider and Sam F. Crider (both of East Point), Will Crider (Hager Hill), and Grover Crider (Paintsville); and 2 daughters, Mrs. Elmer Hester (East Point) and Mrs. A. B. Burnette (Ohio). At first the doctors seemed puzzled about his condition but after close examination they decided he had anemia."
