Information on this family can be found on pages 452 & 461 of the book "Johnson County, Kentucky: A History of the County, and Genealogy of Its People Up to the Year 1927" by Mitchell Hall. In that book it says that Cynthia Ellen Rice married James Haden "Hade" Conley, son of John Conley. He was born in June of 1839 and died about 1913. Their children were Louise, Millard V., John Clint, Sola Gertrude, Lindsey S., Charles F., A. F., Frank, Genoa, and Virgie Lee. It also says: "This family lives on Rockhouse Creek, about three miles from Paintsville. Mr. Conley has been dead many years. Mrs. Conley survived and lives with some of the children at the old homestead."

     He is survived by his wife, Kerri Meade Conley, His parents, Wallace M. and Betty Jo Pelphrey Conley of Riceville; one daughter, Kassandra Conley of Cambridge, Massachusetts; two sons, Joshua and Alex Conley both of Paintsville; one brother, Chris & Chastity Conley of Davis Branch; one sister, Sallee & Winfred Holbrook of Davis Branch; Father & Mother-in-Law, Curtis & Maddie Meade of Van Lear; one Nephew, Dustin Holbrook, one niece, Kennedy Grace Conley, and one brother-in-law, Kevin Meade of Hager Hill.
     Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Ky. Friends may call at Jones-Preston Funeral Home after 5:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday and until time of service on Sunday. Jones-Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

She was born June 24, 1884 in Johnson County, Kentucky, died March 11, 1959 in Salyersville, Magoffin County, Kentucky, and is buried in Isaiah Conley Cemetery in Falcon, Magoffin County, Kentucky.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Alonzo C. Conley (single, b. State Road Fork, father b. Johnson County, mother b. Magoffin County, age 26) married Martha D. Caudill (b. Johnson County, parents b. Johnson County, age 22) August 17, 1906 in Magoffin County at the home of L. Lemaster. The witnesses were L. C. Prater and Pearly Rice, and the minister was J. D. Conley.

When Alonzo C. Conley's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Falcon, Magoffin County, that his nearest relative was Martha Conley of Falcon, and that he was born April 28, 1879. He was found to be tall, of medium build, and he had blue eyes and dark-colored hair.

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of their headstone shows that Alonza C. Conley [sic] lived from 1879 to 1961, and was buried in Isaiah Conley Cemetery in Falcon, Magoffin County, Kentucky, and that Martha D. Conley lived from 1884 to 1959, and was buried in the same cemetery.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, George W. Howard married Caroline Conley on August 22, 1882 in Magoffin County at the home of H. J. Conley. The witnesses were L. B. Mead and Jacob Salyer, and the minister was Nehemiah Crace.

Information found on findagrave.com shows that Catherine Conley Howard and George Washington Howard were both buried in Conley Cemetery in Magoffin County, Kentucky. No headstone photos are provided.

On page 61 of the 1860 census for Magoffin County, Kentucky (dated July 11, 1860), William Howard is listed as the head of the household for house #416, he's a farmer, born in Kentucky, and he's 33 years old. She was born July 20, 1871 in Lee County, Virginia, died March 12, 1937 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, and is buried Conley Cemetery in Litterals Fork, Magoffin County, Kentucky.

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of their headstone shows that William J. Love lived from August 30, 1843 to April 2, 1908, and was buried in Marion Hale Cemetery in Mine Fork, Magoffin County, Kentucky, and that Mary Love lived from October 10, 1842 to July 4, 1921, and was buried in the same cemetery.

According to her death certificate, Mary Anderson Love died July 4, 1921 in Lickburg, Magoffin County, Kentucky, from heart dropsy. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Virginia, her birth date as September 10, 1842, her marital status as widowed, her father as Jerry Anderson (b. Virginia), and the burial place as Hale Cemetery.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Oliver S. Conley married Eliza A. Love on September 11, 1886 in Magoffin County at the home of Jeff Love. The witnesses were Frank Adams and Isaiah Cheek, and the minister was C. C. Crace.

According to her death certificate, Eliza Love Conley died March 12, 1937 in Magoffin County from pneumonia. She was born December 12, 1898 in Kentucky, died September 27, 1980 in Arlington Heights, Cook County, Illinois, and is buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Rantoul, Champaign County, Illinois.

Notes: Information on this family can be found on page 106 of "The Conley Clan of Eastern Kentucky," published and sold by The Magoffin County Historical Society. In that book it says that William Conley was born April 13, 1888, and died March 3, 1939, and that Martha Craft was born December 12, 1898, and died September 27, 1980. It also says that they were married June 23, 1919.

Lloyd Conley's brother, John, married Martha Craft's sister, Ruie.

When William Lloyd Conley's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Boyd County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a laborer for Ashland Steel Company in Ashland, Kentucky, that he lived in Ashland, and that he was born April 13, 1888 near Salyersville, Magoffin County. He was found to be tall, of medium build, and he had brown eyes and black hair.

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of their headstone shows that Wm. Loyde Conley [sic] lived from 1888 to 1939, and was buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Rantoul, Champaign County, Illinois, and that Martha Conley lived from 1898 to 1980, and was buried in the same cemetery.

According to Ohio death records, there was a William Conley who died March 3, 1938 in Scioto County.

According to Social Security death record transcripts, Martha Conley December 17, 1898, and died in September of 1980. She received her Social Security card in Illinois prior to 1951, and her last place of residence was in Arlington Heights, Cook County, Illinois.

He married (2) MARY FRANCES BAYES, daughter of JOSHUA BAYES and (unknown first name) OWENS, about 1849. She was born May 25, 1833 in Kentucky, died January 8, 1912 in Low Gap, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Volga, Johnson County, Kentucky.

Notes: Mary Bayes was the sister of William A. Bayes.

WILLIAM R. "WILLIE" REYNOLDS, son of LOUISA CONLEY and JOHN J. REYNOLDS, was born February 7, 1889 in Kentucky, died November 8, 1967 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio, and is buried in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery in Staffordsville, Johnson County, Kentucky. He married VIRGINIA "VIRGIE" STURGILL, daughter of MILLARD FILLMORE STURGILL and ELIZABETH SALYER, November 4, 1914 in Johnson County, Kentucky. She was born October 2, 1898 in Johnson County, Kentucky, died March 23, 1986 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio, and is buried in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery in Staffordsville, Johnson County, Kentucky.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Willie Reynolds (age 25) married Virgie Sturgill (age 16) on November 4, 1914 in Johnson County.

When William R. Reynolds' World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer, that he was married and had a child, and that he was born February 7, 1889 in Johnson County. He was found to be tall, of medium build, and he had dark brown eyes and dark brown hair.

Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website, including a photo of their headstone, shows that William R. Reynolds lived from February 7, 1889 to November 8, 1967, and was buried in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery, and that Virgie Reynolds lived from October 2, 1898 to March 23, 1896, and was buried in the same cemetery.

According to Ohio death record transcripts, William R. Reynolds was born about 1889, and died November 8, 1967 in Stouder Memorial in Troy, Miami County, at the age of 78. He was married at the time of his death.

According to her obituary, Virgie Sturgill Reynolds (age 87), daughter of M. F. "Billy" and Elizabeth Sturgill, was born October 2, 1898 in Johnson County, Kentucky, died March 23, 1986 in Dettmer Hospital in Troy, Ohio, and was buried in Johnson County Memorial Cemetery in Staffordsville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. "Willie" Reynolds, on November 8, 1967. She was survived by 5 sons, John Reynolds (of St. Paris, Ohio), Thomas E. Reynolds (Piqua, Ohio), James Reynolds (Piqua), Harvie Gene Reynolds (Troy, Ohio), and Robert Reynolds (Troy); 6 daughters, Gegie Anderson (Rossburg, Ohio), Eula Ratcliff (Casstown, Ohio), Sarah Eaves (Tampa, Florida), Opal Richardson (Tipp City, Ohio), and Patsy Rowland (Mansfield, Ohio); 2 brothers, Clifford Sturgill (Thealka, Kentucky) and Millard F. Sturgill Jr. (Lorraine, Ohio); 4 sisters, Lucina Collins (Salyersville, Kentucky), Sarah Rhoads (South Charleston, Ohio), Geneva Castle (Barnetts Creek), and Margie Robbins (Jenkins); 44 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
