He was born May 22, 1876 in Stafford Hill, Lewis County, Kentucky, died January 1, 1941 in Haldeman, Rowan County, Kentucky, and is buried in Bowen Chapel Cemetery in Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky.

Notes: According to "The Conley Clan of Eastern Kentucky," published and sold by The Magoffin County Historical Society (page 528), Tonie Harriett Reeder was born June 3, 1881 in Lawrence County, and died in March of 1972. She married (1) Ezekiel Hinton on August 22, 1898. She married (2) William "Bill" Brown. No evidence could be found that she was actually married a 2nd time.

When Ezekiel Hinton's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Grayson, Carter County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a clay miner for the Kentucky Fire Brick Company in Haldeman, Rowan County, that his closest relative was Tonie Hinton of Upper Tygart, Carter County, and that he was born May 27, 1876. He was found to be of medium height and slender build, and he had brown eyes and black hair.

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of their headstone shows that Tonie Hinton lived from June 3, 1881 to April 12, 1970, and was buried in Bowen Chapel Cemetery in Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky, and that Ezekiel Hinton lived from May 27, 1876 to January 1, 1941, and was buried in the same cemetery.

When Mitchell Walters' World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1918 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was working for the Consolidation Coal Company in Van Lear, Kentucky, that his closest relative was W. M. Walters, and that he was born April 14, 1897. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had gray eyes and dark brown hair.

Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website and photos of their headstones shows that Mitchell Walters lived from April 14, 1897 to February 23, 1938, and was buried in Jesse Preston Cemetery in Meally, Johnson County, Kentucky, and that Goldia Walters lived from January 28, 1897 to March 15, 1968, and was buried in the same cemetery.

According to his death certificate, Mitchel Walters died February 23, 1938 in Buffalo, Johnson County, Kentucky, from silicosis and a dilated heart. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Johnson County, his age as 40, his wife as Goldie Walters, his occupation as miner, his parents as W. M. Walters (b. Johnson County) and Julia Davis (b. Johnson County), the informant as Leonard Walters of Meally, Kentucky. and the burial place as Buffalo.

According to his obituary, Mitchell Walters (age 42), was a farmer and miner for most of his life. He died February 23, 1938 at home in Meally after "an illness of six months from a strange malady which some thought to have been brought about by inhaling rock dust," and was buried in Walters Family Cemetery near Concord. "Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 19, at Old Friendship United Baptist Church for C.C. Price, 68, who died Friday after suffering a heart attack. Death came about 20 minutes after he was stricken, while serving as a member of the petit jury on Johnson Circuit Court. Another juror in the courtroom noted that Mr. price had slumped over in his seat. He was quickly carried from the room and placed in a reclining position on the floor while an ambulance of the Preston Funeral Home was being called. He died about 3:00 p.m. only a few minutes after entering the emergency room of the Paintsville Hospital. A well-known resident of Williamsport where he had lived for the past 40 years, he was a member of one of the county's largest families. Born at Thelma, December 11, 1890, he was a son of Henry and Sarah Ward Price. He was a retired miner, and was a member of the United Baptist Church. Mr. Price was married in Paintsville May 8, 1940 to Golda Walters Price, who survives him. Other survivors include three sons, Hammie Price and Henry price, both of Akron, Ohio, Hansford Price, Lexington, Ky., two step-sons, Mitchell Walters and Charles, both of Williamsport; two daughters, Evylene Ritchie, Oceana, W. Va., Mary Taul, Henderson, Ky., and four step-daughters, Dorothy Boyd, Williamsport, Lorene Castle, Tutor key, Elva Meek, Dayton, Ohio, and Geneva Davis, Williamsport. Also surviving are one brother, Green Price of Thelma, one sister, Addie Butcher of Williamsport, and 17 grandchildren. Officiating ministers were Earl Muncy, Glen Arrowood, Winfrey Meek and Nim Sturgill. Burial was in the Pack Cemetery at Williamsport."

The birth dates on the headstone are incorrect, as Gertude is listed as being born in July of 1897 and is 2 years old when the 1900 census was taken, and Sammy was born in May of 1899 and 1 year old in that same census.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Rolla Dixon (father b. Johnson County, mother b. Johnson County, age 21) married Lillie Conley (parents b. Johnson County, age 20) on July 12, 1914 in Johnson County.

When Rola Dixon's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Sitka, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Sitka, that his was married and had a child, and that he was born January 30, 1893 in Sitka. He was found to be tall, of medium build, and he had blue eyes and dark hair.

Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website shows that both Lillian Conley Dixon and Rolla Dixon were buried in Highland Memorial Park in Staffordsville. There is a photo of their headstone, but the dates are hard to read.

Lillie Dixon, 96, died Monday, April 3, in Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Dixon was born February 9, 1894 in Johnson County, the daughter of John Milton and Mary Etta Woods Conley. She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolla Dixon, in 1970. Surviving are one son, Garland Dixon, of Paintsville; two daughters, Dorothy Schroyer, of Paintsville, and Anna Belle Danies [sic], of Allegan, Michigan; two brothers, Ralph Conley, of Staffordsville, and W. E. "Deak" Conley, of Allegan; 3 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, April 25, at 2 p.m., in Jones- Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Charles Milam Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville. PH Wed. 4-25-1990 According to Social Security death record transcripts, Lillie C. "Death and tragedy struck in a widely known Johnson County family during the past week, taking two sisters, Mrs. Linnie Hall, 86, of Meally and Mrs. Adeline Robinson of East Point. Mrs. Robinson, 77, died of burns Monday [November 26, 1956] afternoon at her home after her clothing ignited from a gas furnace in the cottage where she lived near her daughter, Mrs John Auxier. Her body was found by members of the family who were attracted to the scene by smoke from the building. She had been in ill health for several years, but her tragic death came as a great shock to the East Point vicinity where she was loved and well known as a 'good' woman. She was a member of the East Point Church of Christ. Familiarly known as 'Aunt Add' she is mourned not only by her loved ones, but by a host of friends and neighbors. Surviving are three sons, Wm. Robinson, of East Point; Jay Robinson, West Van Lear; George Ernest Robinson, Maytown, Ky; two daughters, Mrs. Stella Auxier, East Point; and Mrs. Dorothy Hall, Fon Du Lac, Wis. Others survivors of Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Hall are two sisters, Mrs. J.E. Akers of West Van Lear, and Mrs. Lon Goble, of Lancer, Ky.; and one brother, Wm. Music of Auxier, Ky.; also a number of grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the East Point Church of Christ by Reverend S.C. Honeycutt. Burial will be made in the family cemetery at East Point by the Jones and Preston Funeral Home. Mrs. Hall died Thursday Novemeber 22, 1956, at Meally after suffering a stroke two weeks earlier. She was a loyal and faithful member of the Church of Christ and had been a resident of Meally for the past forty-eight years. She was known in her community as a good Christian woman. She was born at East Point on June 30 1870, and was preceded in death by her husband, Martin M. Hall, who passed away on November 14 1945. Four sons and three daughters survive, they are Jim Hall, Hatcher Hall, and Paul Hall, all of Meally; Virgil Hall, Logan, W. Va.; Mrs. Verna Music, East Point, Ky.; Mrs. Virgie Walters and Mrs. Lucille Short, both of Meally. Services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Church of Christ at Meally, with the Rev. J.H. Short officiating. Burial was made in the Hall Cemetery at Meally under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home. Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Hall were the daughters of Abraham and Nan Jones [Nancy Jones] Music, members of pioneer families who migrated to Kentucky from Virginia."
