Notes: When John Franklin Jackson's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer in Ivyton, Magoffin County, that his closest relative was Manda Jackson of Ivyton, and that he was born April 24, 1899. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had brown eyes and black hair. Not being able to read or write, he signed the card with an "X."

According to Social Security death record transcripts, John Jackson was born April 24, 1899, and died in March of 1986. He received his Social Security card prior to 1951 in Kentucky, and his last place of residence was in Silver Lake, Kosciusko County, Indiana.

According to her obituary, Dicie Sparks Jackson was born January 27, 1859, married John Jackson on December 17, 1879, died from nervous trouble, which she had suffered from for a number of years, on November 6, 1936 at home in Conley, Kentucky, and was buried in a cemetery near the home of Green Adams. She had 10 children, 8 of whom lived to adulthood and they were: George Jackson (Wenatchee, Washington); Haywood Jackson (deceased); Lundy Jackson (deceased); Mrs. B.F. Whitt (Franklin Furnace, Ohio); Mrs. Malcolm Sturgell (Conley, Kentucky); Mrs. Eck Patrick (Burning Fork, Kentucky); Clarence Jackson (Conley, Kentucky); Mrs. John Adams (Conley, Kentucky); and twin daughters who died in infancy. She was also survived by her husband; 2 sisters, Mrs. Jim Honacker (Oil Springs) and Mrs. Jack Shaver (West Liberty, Kentucky); 1 brother, Daniel Sparks (Van Lear); 36 grandchildren, and 26 great-grand children.

According to his death certificate, John Jackson died July 13, 1946 in Salyersville and for his cause of death it says "No Dr. present, died suddenly due to senility." When Earl Leroy Sparks' World War II draft registration card was filled out on April 25, 1942 in Dunsmuir, Siskiyou County, California, he stated that he was working for a lumber company in "Pondosa," Siskiyou County, California, that his closest relative was Bruce D. Sparks in Wenatchee County, Washington, and that he was born December 17, 1896 in Salyersville, Kentucky. He was found to be 5 feet 5 inches tall, he weighed 136 pounds, he had an index finger with the "first joint gone," and he had a scar on his right leg from a gunshot wound.

Notes: When Hade Blanton's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Magoffin County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer in Conley, Magoffin County, that his closest relative was Mahalia Blanton - wife - of Conley, and that he was born August 1, 1867. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and black hair. Not being able to read or write, he signed the card with an "X."

According to his death certificate, Garfield Collins died October 9, 1944 in Riceville from pulmonary tuberculosis. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and black hair.

According to her death certificate, Nora Ramey Collins died April 15, 1920 in Riceville from consumption [tuberculosis]. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Kentucky, her birthdate as April 15, 1888, her marital status as married, her parents as Charles Ramey (b. Magoffin County), and Margrett Salyers (b. Kentucky), and the informant as Joe Collins of Riceville, Kentucky.

According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Joe Collins died August 29, 1963 in Floyd County at the age of 78.

When William Forest Ramey's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Riceville, Kentucky, that he had a dependant wife and father, and that he was born November 11, 1892 in Volgo, Kentucky. He was found to be short, of medium build, and he had blue eyes and black hair.

According to her death certificate, Margaret Spears Ramey died January 3, 1945 in Riceville from a cholelithiasis [gall stones] operation. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Johnson County, her birthdate as January 13, 1884, her marital status as widow, her husband as William Ramey, her parents as Henery Spears (b. Johnson County) and Martha Ellen Moles (b. Johnson County), and the informant as Jerry Spears of Riceville, Kentucky.

According to her obituary, Margaret Spears Ramey (age 60), daughter of Henry and Martha Ellen Moles Spears, was born January 13, 1884 in East Point, died January 3, 1945 at home in Riceville after a year's illness, and was buried in Riceville. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ramey, several years prior. She was survived by 6 brothers, Marion Spears, Jeff Spears, Manuel Spears, John William Spears, and Jerry Moles Spears; and 3 sisters, Mrs. Harriet Spears Conley, Mrs. Mintie Spears Caudill, and Mrs. Sarah Spears Rowe. Notes: Nancy Lark's mother was reportedly a woman by the name of Elizabeth Simerman. In 1850 her father's wife's name is listed as Elizabeth and she's born in Tennessee. In 1860 it's Elvina (b. Virginia), and in 1870 it's Luvina (b. Virginia).

Henry Salyer reportedly died about 1894 and Nancy Lark Salyer reportedly died about 1884. Their children are found living in the home of their uncle, James E. Salyer, in 1900.
