NANCY FAIRCHILD, daughter of FRANCES "FRANKIE" CANTRELL and ENOCH FAIRCHILD, was born about 1832 in Floyd County, Kentucky. She married EBENEZER SCOTT HANNAH, son of JOHN SCOTT HANNAH and ANNA CURTIS, October 7, 1852 in Johnson County, Kentucky. He was born about 1822 in Floyd County, Kentucky.

Notes: On page 263 of the book Annals of Floyd County, Kentucky 1800-1826" written by Charles C. Wells and published in 1983 (available here), it says that there was a bond dated November 28, 1821 by John S. Hanna and William M. Smith for a marriage shortly to be had between John S. Hanna and Anna Curtis. There was also a document dated November 26, 1821 in Floyd County that said "This is to certify that I have consented to the request of John Hannah to have my daughter Anna Curtis and aperobate the grant of licens. (S) Sara Colvin and John Colvin."

Ebenezer Scott Hannah was the brother of Sarah Hannah and Elizabeth Hannah.

According to Kentucky marriage records, Ebenezer Hanna (age 30, b. Floyd County) married Nancy Farchild (age 19, b. Floyd County) on October 7, 1852 in Johnson County. Both were single when they were married. Some reports have Nancy being Ebenezer's 2nd wife.

JOHN HANNAH, son of NANCY FAIRCHILD and EBENEZER SCOTT HANNAH, was born about 1862 in Kentucky. He married JULIA A. FRAZIER, daughter of WILLIAM J. FRAZIER and ZILPHA LEMASTER, August 28, 1879 in Johnson County, Kentucky. She was born about 1862 in Kentucky.

Notes: Julia A. Frazier was the sister of James Hiram Frazier, Elizabeth Frazier, who married Levi Hannah, son of Nancy Fairchild and Ebenezer Scott Hannah, and Mary Ann Frazier.

Zilpha Lemaster was the was the sister of Judith Lemaster, James P. Lemaster, Mary Almeda Lemaster and Thomas Lemaster.

The fact that Julia Frazier was the daughter of William Frazier and Zilpha Lemaster us pure conjecture. John Hannah's brother, Levi, married Elizabeth Frazier, daughter of William and Zilpha, and Levi and Elizabeth can be found living next to Elizabeth's parents in 1880. In the 1870 census William and Zilpha Frazier have a daughter who was born about 1862 by the name of Judith. It is proposed here that Judith was the Julia Frazier that married John Hannah. Both John and Julia's names are on their daughter's death certificate.

Julia Frazier reportedly died about 1885 in Johnson County, Kentucky, at the age of 22.

On page 12 of the 1870 census for Barnetts Creek in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated June 25, 1870), William Frazier is listed as the head of the household for house #80, he's a farm laborer, born in Kentucky, and he's 27 years old. Also listed are Zilpha (born in Kentucky, age 31), Malinda J. (born in Kentucky, age 12), Elizebeth (born in Kentucky, age 10), Judith (born in Kentucky, age 8), Mary A. (born in Kentucky, age 3), and Henry H. (born in October of 1869 in Kentucky, age 8 months).

On page 24 of the 1880 census for District 45 (Barnetts Creek) in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated June 15, 1880), John Hannah is found living in the home of his parents. E. S. Hannah is listed as the head of the household for house #141, he's a farm laborer, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, and he's 58 years old. Also listed are Nancy (wife, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, age 45), Levi (son, born in Kentucky, age 19), Harmon (son, born in Kentucky, age 14), Jackson (son, born in Kentucky, age 12), Enoch (son, born in Kentucky, age 10), William (son, born in Kentucky, age 5), John (son, married, farmer, born in Kentucky, age 17), Julia A. (daughter-in-law, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, age 17), and Francis (granddaughter, born in March of 1880 in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, age 2 months).

The child of JOHN HANNAH and JULIA FRAZIER is:

    1. FRANCIS JANE "FRANKIE" HANNAH, b. March 1880, Johnson County, Kentucky, d. January 19, 1927, Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, buried in Catlettsburg, Boyd County, Kentucky, m. ROBERT WICKLIFF "WICK" CONLEY.
