"Ephraim (5) born May 1st, 1762, married Hannah Bentley, at Goshen, February 7th, 1781. He was not nineteen years of age, she just more than sixteen. Nothing is known of their early education only that the registry in the old Bible by him is in fair old-fashioned penmanship. Hannah was daughter of Green M. Bently, a veteran soldier of two wars. She died at Tioga, Pa., while on a visit to her brother Benjamin, in company with her husband who survived her three years. She was buried there. Later her remains wer removed to Montour Falls, N. Y., and laid beside her husband in the family plot. Ephraim bereft, made his home with his son, Col. Green Bently Bennett, where he died suddenly of appoplexy, October 26, 1843. He is vividly recalled to memory by the writer at three years old.

When Leck Conley's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918, he stated that that he was a miner working for Elkhorn Coal Company in Garrett [Floyd County], Kentucky, that his closest relative was Mary Conley of Garrett, and that he was born February 24, 1878. He was found to be tall and slender, and he had blue eyes and light brown hair.

When Leck C. Conley's World War II draft registration card was filled out on April 27, 1942 in Portsmouth, Scioto County, OHio, he stated that he was employed by Jack Wilkinson of Portsmouth, that his closest relative was Troy Conley of Portsmouth, and that he was born February 24, 1878 in Knott County, Kentucky. He was found to be 5 feet 11 inches tall, he weighed 155 pounds, and he had blue eyes, gray hair, and a light complexion.

Conley, son of the late A.J. and Elizabeth Conley, was born in 1868 in Johnson County, died February 29, 1940 at the home of his sister in Louisa, and was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery in Louisa. He was living in Roanoke, West Virginia and visiting his sister, Mrs. O.C. McDougle, at the time of his death. "He went to Louisa when a young man where he spent the greater part of his life. In 1885 he and Boyd Ferguson purchased the Lawrence County Index from Col. W.O. Johnson and changed its name to the Big Sandy News. Later Mr. Conley purchased the interest of his partner and continued as it’s publisher until 1935. The Big Sandy News is still being published and is probably the oldest business in Lawrence county. Mr. Conley was a prominent Democrat. In 1904 he aided in organizing the Louisa National Bank and was cashier until 1934. He served Kentucky as chairman of the State Board of Charities and Collection at Frankford for six years, four under Governor Fields, and two under Governor Sampson." He was survived by his widow, Mrs. Willia Burchett Conley; 2 daughters, Mrs. B.H. Maben (of Roanoke, West Virginia) and Mrs. R.P. Wood (Chicago, Illinois); 1 son, N.B. Conley (Plainfield, New Jersey); and 1 sister, Mrs. O.C. McDougle.

According to his obituary, Edward Blevins (age 49), son of Smith and Clara Adams Blevins, was a disabled veteran and a resident of Staffordsville. He died September 24, 1971 in a local Johnson County hospital following a brief illness, and was buried in the family cemetery in Staffordsville. He was survived by his wife, Corrine Cecil Blevins; 1 son, Ronnie Edward Blevins and wife Edna (of Morehead); 3 daughters at home, Beverly Jean Blevins, Mary Sharon Blevins, and Tammy Fay Blevins; 1 brother, Chalmer Blevins (Wittensville); and 1 sister, Phyllis Jean Ford (Galion, Ohio). When Wallace Hannah's World War I draft registration card was filled out on August 24, 1918 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was working for his father (who was born in Johnson County) in Riceville, that his closest relative was Mrs. Bessie Hannah (wife) of Riceville, and that he was born August 8, 1897 in Johnson County. He was found to be tall, of medium build, and he had brown eyes and light brown hair.

According to her death certificate, Bessie Brown Hannah died November 10, 1921 in Riceville from complications during childbirth. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Johnson County, her birthdate as May 10, 1902, her marital status as married, her parents as John D. Blanton (b. Johnson County) and Lila Brown (b. Johnson County), and the informant as Enoch Hannah of Riceville.

According to his death certificate, Wallas B. Hannah was murdered April 29, 1929 in Riceville, dying from a gunshot. Also on this certificate, his birthdate is listed as August 8, 1897, his marital status as married, his wife as Hulda Hannah, his parents as Enoch Hannah (b. Kentucky) and Maranda Arms (b. Kentucky), and the informant as Maranda Hannah of Riceville.

Her middle initial is "J" on the 1920 census and there is a June Hannah living with Enoch Hannah. There is also an Arnold Hannah who is 9 years old. This could be the son of Wallace and Bessie. Enoch Hannah is listed as the head of the household for house #139, he's a farmer, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, first married at age 18 [hard to read], and he's 58 years old.
