BRITTON F. BLAIR, son of RACHEL CANTRELL and LEVI BLAIR, was born April 14, 1842 in Jennies Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky, and died August 21, 1916 in Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky. He married LUCINDA CONLEY, daughter of JACKSON CONLEY and SUSANNAH HORNE, May 16, 1870. She was born August 30, 1854 in Johnson County, Kentucky, and died January 7, 1923 in Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky.
Notes: According to Kentucky birth records, Lucinda Conly was born August 30, 1854 in Johnson County to Jackson Conly and Susannah Horne. It's probable that Jackson was the son of Mary Conley, who was the daughter of Rachel Conley. There is a Jackson that is found in the 1850 census with Rachel's family, along with a Solomon Conley. Solomon Conley later went by the name of Solomon Spradlin.
According to his death certificate, Briton F. Blair died August 21, 1916 in Barnetts Creek from "Organic Disease of heart (From Verdict of a Coroners Jury)." Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Kentucky, his birthdate as April 14, 1842, his marital status as married, his occupation as farmer, his parents as Levi Blair (b. Kentucky) and Rachael Cantrell (b. Kentucky), and the informant as William F. Blair of Barnetts Creek.
According to her death certificate, Lucinda Conley Blair died January 7, 1923 in Barnetts Creek from influenza. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Kentucky, her birthdate as October 28, 1854, her marital status as widowed, her parents as Jack Conley (b. Kentucky) and Susa Horn (b. Kentucky), the informant as Bill Blair of Barnetts Creek, Kentucky, and the doctor as Grant Rice [Ulysses Grant Rice].
On page 1 of the 1870 census for Barnetts Creek in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated June 17, 1870), Britton F. Blair is listed as the head of the household for house #7, he's a farm laborer, can read and write, born in Kentucky, and he's 28 years old. Also listed is Lucinda (cannot read or write, born in Kentucky, age 15). They are living next to Britton's parents.
On page 24 of the 1880 census for District 45 (Barnetts Creek) in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated June 15, 1880), Briton F. Blair is listed as the head of the household for house #146, he's a farmer, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, and he's 44 years old. Also listed are Nancy J. (wife, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, age 28), Levi (son, born in Kentucky, age 9), Sarah A. (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 7), Alamander (son, born in Kentucky, age 4), Leander (son, born in Kentucky, age 4), and Andrew H. (son, born in February of 1880 in Kentucky, age 3 months). It's unknown why Britton's name is listed as the head of the household for this family, when it is actually his brother James' family. Britton and his family couldn't be found in the 1880 census for Barnetts Creek. Britton's wife's parents, and her brother Henry, are found in house #149.

Blair is listed as the head of the household for house #137, he's a farmer, born in April of 1842 in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, married for 28 years, and he's 58 years old. Also listed are Lucinda (wife, born in August of 1854 in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, married for 28 years, she's given birth to 11 children and all are still living, age 45), John E. (son, single, farmer, born in March of 1875 in Kentucky, age 25), Albert N. He was preceded in death by his wife, 27 years prior. He was survived by 1 son, Charlie Blair (of Lexington); 3 brothers, George Blair (Denver, Kentucky), Frank Blair (Barnetts Creek), and James Blair (Denver); and 3 sisters, Mrs. Sarah Spradlin (Paintsville), Mrs. Rhoda Ratliff (Barnetts Creek), and Mrs. Martha Ward (Carey, Ohio).
