He married BESSIE SALYER, daughter of BENJAMIN F. SALYER and CELESTA CHARLOTTE YATES. She was born July 31, 1893 in Falcon, Magoffin County, Kentucky, died March 21, 1961 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in the family cemetery in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky. Bessie Salyer married (1) CYRUS D. TRIMBLE, son of DAVID NATHANIEL TRIMBLE and NANCY JANE VANHOOSE, about 1909. He was born August 11, 1888 in Johnson County, Kentucky, and died April 30, 1965 in Floyd County, Kentucky.

Celesta Charlotte Yates was the sister of Fitzhugh Lee Yates, Nervesta H. Yates, and possibly Easter V. Caudill, the wife of John Q.A. Caudill.

When Millard Conley's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Johnson County, that he was single, that he had a dependant mother, and that he was born April 14, 1889 in Oil Springs, Kentucky. He was found to be tall, of medium build, and he had brown eyes and dark-colored hair. Not being able to read or write, he signed the card with an "X."
