He was born in August of 1855 in Riceville, Johnson County, Kentucky, died March 3, 1931 in Riceville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Asa Creek, Johnson County, Kentucky.

    Notes: Daniel Brown's 2nd marriage was to an Arminta Conley, as is shown on his death certificate. They are shown with a son named Boon in the 1930 census and there was a Daniel B. Brown - possibly Daniel Boone Brown - born in 1922 to an Arminta Hitchcock. This is probably the Arminta Hitchcock that was the daughter of Daniel and Samantha Adams Hitchcock. It has been reported that she was first married to a John "Buck" Conley.

    According to her death certificate, Artie Allen Brown died May 22, 1914 in Jennies Creek from tachycardia and chronic gastritis. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Magoffin County, her birthdate as October 7, 1857, her marital status as married, her parents as John Allen (b. Virginia) and Pollie Whitaker (b. Floyd County), and the informant as Daniel Brown of Riceville, Kentucky.

    According to his death certificate, Daniel Brown died March 3, 1931 in Riceville from kidney trouble. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Riceville, his age as 77, his marital status as married, his wife as Minta Conley, his parents as Jim Brown (b. Riceville) and Mary Brown (b.     According to his death certificate, Lewis Blair died July 11, 1953 in Oil Springs from an aortic leak or regurgitation. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Kentucky, his birthdate as January 8, 1872, his marital status as married, his parents as Britton Blair and Mary Watkins, the informant as Homer Blair, the doctor as Grant Rice [Ulysses Grant Rice], and the burial place as the family cemetery in Oil Springs.

    According to his obituary, Lewis Blair (age 81), son of Britton and Mary Watkins Blair, was a retired blacksmith and farmer. He was born January 8, 1872 in Johnson County, died July 11, 1953 at home in Oil Springs following an illness of 2 weeks, and was buried in the family cemetery in Oil Springs. He was survived by 3 sons, Taylor Blair (of Van Lear), Homer Blair (Oil Springs), and Ross Blair (Oil Springs); 3 daughters, Mrs. Lula Saylor (Ohio Springs), Mrs. Dona Crace (Ohio Springs), and Mrs. Mary Scott (Riceville); 3 brothers, Harlan Blair (Van Lear), Oscar Blair (Huntington, West Virginia), and Ross Blair (West Virginia); and 2 sisters, Mrs. Minerva Salyer (Oil Springs) and Mrs. Docie "Baily" (Indiana). She married (2) SHADRACK OLIVER, son of JOSHUA OLIVER and RACHEL DUFF, after 1860. He was born about 1828 in Perry County, Kentucky, and died before 1900.

    Notes: According to Kentucky death records, John Howard died July 12, 1853 at the age of 33 in Quicksand, Breathitt County, from cholic. He was born in "Floyd Licking" and he was married at the time of his death.

    According to Kentucky birth records, there was a Garrett Howard that was born April 23, 1859 in Breathitt County. His mother's name is listed as Nancy Allen and his father's as "Illegitimate." He was born November 27, 1880 in West Virginia, and died February 21, 1938 in Morgan County, Ohio.

    Notes: Andrew Rudd's mother's maiden name has been reported as Rebecca Jane Riffe. It's listed as Jane on page 23 of the 1900 census for District 132 (Talcott) in Summers County, West Virginia. Andrew's father's full name has been reported as Royal Sidney Rudd.

    When Andrew McDonald Rudd's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Catlettsburg, Boyd County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a railroad conductor for the C & O Railroad Company in Russell, Greenup County, Kentucky, that his closest relative was Mahala J. Rudd of Unity, Boyd County, and that he was born November 27, 1880. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and brown hair.

    According to her death certificate, Mahala Jane Conley Rudd died August 24, 1946 in Ashland from cancer, although the exact kind is hard to read. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Willard, Kentucky, her birthdate as February 16, 1889, her marital status as widowed, her husband as Andrew M. Rudd, her parents as J.R. Conley (birthplace blank) and Jane Sexton (b. Carter County), and the informant as Marco M. Rudd of Ashland.

    According to Ohio death records, Andrew M. Rudd died February 21, 1938 in Morgan County.

BLAIR, was born July 7, 1893 in Kentucky, died June 28, 1921 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in the family cemetery in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky. She married JAMES CAUDILL, son of LOUISA E. RICE and ABLE C. CAUDILL, December 30, 1914. He was born March 30, 1890 in Oil Springs, Johnson County, Kentucky, and died July 11, 1991 in Montgomery County, Kentucky. James Caudill married (2) LULA E. WILLIAMS about 1923. She was born March 7, 1892 in Kentucky, and died October 19, 1983 in Stanton, Powell County, Kentucky.

    Lula Williams was married to a man by the name of Hammons before she married James Caudill.

    When James Caudill's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer in Oil Springs, Johnson County, that he had a wife and 2 children, that he had rheumatism, and that he was born March 30, 1889 in Oil Springs, Kentucky. He was found to be of medium height and slender build, and he had blue eyes and dark-colored hair.

    According to her death certificate, Nola Blare Caudill died June 28, 1921 in Paintsville from "Hemorrhage - placenta previa." Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Kentucky, her birthdate as July 7, 1893, her marital status as single, her parents as Lewis Blare (b. Kentucky) and Lizzie Blare (b. Kentucky), the informant as James Caudill of Oil Springs, and the burial place as Oil Springs.

    According to Social Security death record transcripts, James Caudill was born March 30, 1890, and died in July of 1991. He received his Social Security card prior to 1951 in Kentucky.

    According to Kentucky death record transcripts, James Caudill died July 11, 1991 in Montgomery County at the age of 101. He was living in Powell County at the time of his death.

    According to Social Security death record transcripts, Lula Caudill was born March 7, 1892, and died in October of 1983. She received her Social Security card in 1973 in Kentucky, and her last place of residence was in Stanton, Powell County, Kentucky.

    According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Lula E. Caudill died October 19, 1983 in Powell County at the age of 91.

He married ARTIE ROWE, daughter of WILLIAM ROWE and POLLY (unknown last name), about 1887. She was born in April of 1868 in Kentucky, died November 9, 1953 in Argellite, Greenup County, Kentucky, and is buried in Old Field Cemetery in Greenup County, Kentucky.

    Notes: Artie Rowe's mother's name was reportedly Mary "Polly" Watkins.

    According to his death certificate, Dan Oliver died May 24, 1930 in Pennsylvania, Greenup County, from a carbunkle and heart disease. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Breathitt County, his birthdate as February 5, 1866, his wife as Artie Rowe, his parents as Shady Oliver (b. Breathitt County) and Nancy Allen (b. Breathitt County), the informant as Jas. [James] Oliver (son) of Palmyria, Kentucky, and the burial place as Old Field Cemetery in Greenup County, Kentucky.

    According to her death certificate, Artie Oliver Rowe died November 9, 1953 in Argellite with no doctor, but from her history it was assumed that she died from arthritis and organic heart disease. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Kentucky, her birthdate as 1868, her age as 85, her marital status as widowed, her father as William Rowe, her mother's maiden name as unknown, and the informant as James Oliver.
