He was born March 1, 1899 in Greenup County, Kentucky, died October 26, 1981 in Boyd County, Kentucky, and is buried in Dixon Cemetery in Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky.

Notes: Mary Jane Stone Penix's maiden name was confirmed by finding both her death certificate (1865-1947), and her husband's (1849-1930). She was the daughter of Enoch Stone and Catherine Royster. John D. Penix was the son of John U. Penix and Katherine Stewart.

He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had gray eyes, light-colored hair, and he had a leg and foot that had been broken.

Notes: Edward Rose was first married to a lady by the name of Martha Amanda Thompson and that family can be found on page 3 of the 1880 census for District 52 (Little Blaine) in Lawrence County, Kentucky. According to that census, their son Andrew "Drew" Rose was born in July of 1879. On Andrew's death certificate, when he died in Louisa, Lawrence County, Kentucky in 1948, his parents are listed as Edward Rose and Amanda Thompson. Amanda's name is Martha A. in the 1880 census, and Edward's is Edmon. She reportedly died in 1881. When Arby Rose's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer in Flat Gap, Kentucky, that his closest relative was Hattie Rose of Flat Gap, and that he was born January 6, 1885.

Cora Litteral married (2) THOMAS ALBERT KIMBLER about 1923.

When Hubert Dixon's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a miner and farmer, that he was married, and that he was born November 10, 1895 in Red Bush, Kentucky. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had eyes and hair. Not being able to read or write, he signed the card with an "X."

Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of his headstone shows that Hubert Dixon died June 8, 1936, and was buried in Mound Cemetery in Piketon, Pike County, Ohio. The headstone is also engraved with "KENTUCKY PVT 551 INF 6 DIV."

In January of 1943, R. L. May filled out an application for a veteran headstone for Hubert Dixon. On that application it says that Hubert served from May 28, 1918 to June 24, 1919, and was honorably discharged. He served as a private in Co. I. 51st Infantry. It also shows that he died June 8, 1936 and was buried in Mound Cemetery in Piketon, Ohio, and that the headstone was to be shipped to C. M. Wallen of Piketown.

Kimbler (age 78), son of the late John Welsey [John Wesley] and Sara Ramey Kimbler, was born March 21, 1875 in Greenup County, Kentucky, died August 28, 1953 at home in Volga, and was buried in Hitchock Cemetery in Volga. CONLEY and ARINDA JACOBS, was born March 16, 1886 in Carter County, Kentucky, died June 4, 1952 in Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky, and is buried in Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky. She married SAMUEL PERKINS about 1912. He was born about 1883 in Georgia, and died before 1940.

Notes: Information found on findagrave.com and a photo of her headstone shows that Louise Conley Perkins lived from 1886 to 1952, and was buried in Section 18 1/2 in Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky.

According to her death certificate, Louise Conley Perkins died June 4, 1952 in King's Daughters Hospital in Ashland from uterine cancer. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Carter County, her birth date as March 16, 1886, her marital status as widowed, her occupation as "Operated Home Bakery," her parents as Harry B. Conley and Prinda Jacobs, the informant as "Mrs. Donald Irvine (daughter)," and the burial place as Ashland Cemetery in Ashland.

According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Louise C. Perkins died June 4, 1952 in Boyd County at the age of 66. She was living in Boyd County at the time of her death.

On page 3 of the 1920 census for District 166 (Mill) in Tuscarawas County, Ohio (dated January 3, 1920), Samuel Perkins is listed as the head of the household for family #41 in house #37, he's a machinist in a railroad shop, born in Georgia, parents born in Georgia, and he's 37 years old.
