      Howard Jones' obituary: "Edmond Slone of Frank's Creek near Flat Gap, is being held in the Johnson Coutnty jail charged with the fatal stabbing of his brother-in-law, Howard Jones. The stabbing occurred near the store of Giddy Jones, father of the victim, last Saturday afternoon. The Cause of the altercation is not known. Jones died while en route to a local hospital. A veteran of World War II, he was a miner by occupation, and had lived near Flat Gap all his life. He is survived by his wife, Reva Slone Jones, and one son, Ronald Dean Jones, 18 months old. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters. Henry Jones, Ohio, Goldie Mae Bull, West Virginia, Audrey Faye Salyers, Kertz, Sylvia, Ernest, Marlon, Norma, Myrtle, Chester, Mary Evelyn, and Carolyn Sue, at home. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the home of his father at 2 p.m. Jan 20, 1949. Burial was made in the family cemetery under the direction of trhe Jones Funeral home. Slone was arrested by Sheriff Hall and memebers of the State Police shortly after the slaying occurred. His examining trial is set for Friday, Jan 21, 1949." Notes: Fairy Ramey was the brother of Nancy Ramey, who married Dallas Hitchcock, son of General Grant Hitchcock and Arminta Roberts.
