    Notes: When Noah Spradlin's World War I draft registration card was filled out on June 5, 1917 in Johnson County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a farmer, that he had a dependant mother, and that he was born August 4, 1887 in Denver, Kentucky. He was found to be tall and slender, and he had gray eyes and black hair.

He was born February 25, 1835 in Pikeville, Pike County, Kentucky, and died about 1893 in Magoffin County, Kentucky.

    Notes: Oliver Cain served in Division 39 of the Kentucky Infantry during the Civil War. Nancy Whitt Cain applied for a pension after Oliver died.

    According to her death certificate, Nancy A. Whitt Cain died October 21, 1911 in Ivyton from senility and Brights disease. Also on this certificate, her birthplace is listed as Russell County, Virginia, her birthdate as July 25, 1836, her marital status as widowed, her parents as Henry Whitt (b. Virginia) and Nancy Honaker (b. Virginia), and the informant as H.J. Cain of Bradley, Kentucky.

    Notes: According to the book "The Conley Clan of Eastern Kentucky," published and sold by The Magoffin County Historical Society (page 76), Henry Harman Crace and Nancy A. Cain were married October 2, 1887, and they had no children. Nancy Crace is found living next to her mother and sister in 1900, widowed, and with 6 children (one named Henry). The last child was born in March of 1899, just after Henry Crace died. The 1890 census for most of the country was destroyed by fire.

He was born February 11, 1873 in Red Bush, Johnson County, Kentucky, died May 18, 1952 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Wells-Buckingham Cemetery in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky.

    Notes: Millie Phillips was the daughter of Iredell Phillips and Mary Polly Evans and can be found on page 91 of both the 1850 and the 1860 census reports for Lawrence County, Kentucky.

    According to her obituary, Polly M. Johnson Holbrook (age 79), wife of George Holbrook, died suddenly at the home of her son, J.H. Holbrook, near Circleville, Ohio, October 26, 1947, and was buried in the Wells-Buckingham Cemetery. She had been living in Ohio for the prior 22 years. Also listed are Catherine (wife, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, age 68), Lou M. Hay (daughter, widowed, born in Kentucky, age 31), and Glacus Hay (grandson, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, age 10).

    On page 10 of the 1930 census for District 58-9 (Magisterial District No. 4) in Johnson County, Kentucky (dated April 10, 1930), Lou Barber is listed as the head of the household for house #103, she's a farmer, widowed, born in Kentucky, father born in Virginia, mother born in Kentucky, first married at age 21, and she's 42 years old. Also listed are Glaucus C. Barber (son, farm laborer, born in Kentucky, age 21), John L. Barber (son, born in Kentucky, age 5), and Mary L. Barber (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 3 years 0 months). Lou's parents are in house #106.

    JAMES HARRY HOLBROOK, son of MARGARET POLLY JOHNSON and GEORGE WASHINGTON HOLBROOK, was born March 7, 1897 in Kentucky, and died June 17, 1983 in Circleville, Pickaway County, Ohio. He married VESSIE WEAVER, daughter of DAVID WEAVER and ELIZA (unknown last name), about 1916. She was born about 1901 in Kentucky, and died September 15, 1969 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio.

    Notes: When James Harrey Holbrook's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in West Liberty, Morgan County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a self-employed farmer, that he had a wife and children in Relief, Morgan County, and that he was born March 7, 1898. He was found to be of medium height and build, and he had blue eyes and black hair.

    On her brother's World War I draft registration card which was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Morgan County, Kentucky, Early Dewey Weaver stated that his sister, Vessie Holbrook, was his closest relative. Both of the brothers that are found living with Vessie in 1920, Arbie [Arba] and Early, are found on page 5 of the 1900 census for District 72 (Swetnam) in Lawrence County, Kentucky, living with their parents. In 1910, the children of this family are found living in various houses, indicating that both parents had probably died. Earl Weaver found living with a Skaggs family in 1910 in Lawrence County (District 102 - Page 15). Early was born February 26, 1899. Another brother, Hobert (age 13), is found living with another Skaggs family as a hired boy (Johnson County - District 75 - Page 18). Arba is found living with his grandparents, Pleasant and Margaret Weaver (Morgan County - District 150 - Page 5). Vessie couldn't be located in 1910.

    According to Social Security death record transcripts, J. Holbrook was born March 7, 1897, and died in June of 1983. He received his Social Security card in 1953/54 in Ohio, and his last place of residence was in Circleville, Pickaway County, Ohio.

    According to Ohio death record transcripts, James H. Holbrook was born about 1897 in Kentucky, and died June 17, 1983 at home in Pickaway County at the age of 86. He was widowed at the time of his death.

    According to Ohio death record transcripts, Vessie Holbrook was born about 1901, and died September 15, 1969 in Columbus, Franklin County, at the age of 68. She was married at the time of her death.

    On page 14 of the 1920 census for District 206 (Paint) in Morgan County, Kentucky (dated January 19, 1920), Harry Holbrook is listed as the head of the household for house #117, he's a farmer, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, and he's 21 years old. Also listed are Vessie (wife, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, age 18), Virgil B. (son, born in Kentucky, age 2 years 7 months [hard to read]), Junita (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 1 month), Arbie Weaver (brother-in-law, single, not working, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, age 26), and Early Weaver [Dewey Early Weaver] (brother-in-law, single, not working, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, age 20).

    On page 8 of the 1930 census for District 36-23 (Salem Township) in Highland County, Ohio (not dated), Harry Holbrook is listed as the head of the household for house #112, he's a farmer, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, first married at age 19, and he's 33 years old. Also listed are Vessie (wife, born in Kentucky, parents born in Kentucky, first married at 15, age 29), Virgil B. (son, born in Kentucky, age 12), Junita (daughter, born in Kentucky, age 10), Buford (son, born in Kentucky, age 7), Delbert (son, born in Kentucky, age 5), Englan [hard to read] (son, born in Ohio, age 3), and Mary (daughter, born in Ohio, age 11 months).

      The children of HARRY HOLBROOK and VESSIE WEAVER are:
