From findagrave.com: "Following was taken from a clipping in the Randolph Star Wedowee, Ala. December 25, 1890: Mr. J. W. Oliver and Miss Clara Clifton were united in marriage last Sunday night at the Methodist church, Rev. R. N. Ledbetter officiating. The church was handsomely decorated with ever greens. The attendants were, Miss Ruby Clifton with Mr. Percy Oliver of Dadeville Miss Lilla Stewart with Professor J. E. Thomason; Miss Mollie Murphy with Mr. Will Wier, and Miss May Belle Morgen and Harmon Gibbs. The bride and groom Fling up the rear, and taking their stand in front of the altar under a handsome double heart made of evergreens. Miss Nora Smith presiding at the organ. The bride was surpassingly beautiful in a dress of white silk, trimmed in lace and flowers no ornaments.
"After the marriage a splendid supper was served at the residence Mr. William Clifton. Both of the young people are very popular in Wedowee, and the wedding was one of the chief social events of the season. The happy couple left last Monday for Dadeville, where they will spend Christmas. They intend to make Wedowee their future home."

Redmond Picklesimer married (2) NORA MAY FRALEY, daughter of WAYNE FRALEY and BELLE (unknown last name), about 1919. She was born about 1890 in Elliott County, Kentucky, died May 16, 1940 in Volga, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Volga, Johnson County, Kentucky.

Information on this family can also be found on page 371 of the book "Johnson County, Kentucky: A History of the County, and Genealogy of Its People Up to the Year 1927" by Mitchell Hall. In that book it says that Redmon Wayne Picklesimer first married Josia Conley, and that their children were Bessie Picklesimer (who married Ben Stambaugh), June Picklesimer (married John Flannery), and Charlie Picklesimer. His 2nd wife was Nora Fraley and their children were Douglas Picklesimer and Lillian Grace Picklesimer. It also says "Mr. Picklesimer resides at Volga, Kentucky, and conducts a general merchandise store in connection with the post office at that place. Bessie and June were very popular teachers in the common schools of Johnson County previous to their marriages."

Redmond Wayne Picklesimer was the brother of Nathaniel Lindsey Picklesimer.

She married PATRICK GREEN RICE, son of HARRISON RICE and SARAH ANN ROWLAND, September 5, 1879 in Johnson County, Kentucky. He was born August 16, 1857 in Jennies Creek, Floyd County, Kentucky, died July 2, 1942 in Garrison, Lewis County, Kentucky, and is buried in Garrison, Lewis County, Kentucky.

Information on this family can also be found on pages 450, 455, and 474 of the book "Johnson County, Kentucky: A History of the County, and Genealogy of Its People Up to the Year 1927" by Mitchell Hall. In that book it says that Martin R. Rice was born February 16, 1810, died either January 29 or February 14, 1897, and married Malinda Davis, daughter of James Davis, April 21, 1831. She died in 1847. Their children were Harrison, Elizabeth, John R., Samuel J., Wiley, Nancy Jane, and Catherine. Martin Rice married Mary Hannah, daughter of John S. Hannah, in December of 1848. Their children were Lydia M., Andrew J., Harvey Burns, Elliot M., Cynthia E., Sarah Ann, George B., Smith, and Sherman. It also says:

     "Martin R. Rice was born either in southwestern Virginia or eastern Tennessee, near Cumberland Gap. He came with his parents to Kentucky and settled on a farm March 16, 1815, on the head of Jennie's Creek in what is now Johnson County. It was there that Martin R. Rice came to be a large landowner and prominent citizen in that section of the county. His name is prominently mentioned in many of the older records of the county.
     "The Floyd County tax list for 1837 shows that he had 183 acres of land, 4 horses, and 75 head of cattle on Jennie's Creek.
     "Smith Rice married a daughter of Ham Price. He was a merchant of Paintsville."

On page 455 it says that Harrison Rice was born March 6, 1832, died January 14, 1922, married Sallie Rollin, and that their children were Armstrong, Martin N., Patrick G., Mary Elizabeth, Linda Alice, and Julia. It also says:

     "Harrison Rice married second to Lemaster, third ?. He lived on the Middle Fork of Jennie's Creek in Johnson County."

Then on page 474 it says that Patrick G. Rice married Mary Rice, daughter of Alex Rice, and that their children were Deshia [sic], Cora, Sarah, Ross, Don (married a girl from Russell, Kentucky), Elmer (married a girl from Portsmouth, Ohio), and Clay. They lived in Garrison, Kentucky.

Mary Jane Rice's sister, Nancy, married Patrick Rice's brother, Armstrong. Patrick Green Rice was also the brother of Martin N. Rice and Julia Frances Rice.

Harrison Rice was the brother of Wiley Rice and Catharine Rice, and the half-brother of Andrew Jackson Rice and Sherman Rice.

     "Patrick G. Rice, of Garrison, Lewis County, died July 3 after a lingering illness. He was at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Ashland when death came. Mr. Rice was a native of the Denver section of Johnson County but moved to Garrison 37 years ago. He owned a farm on Middle Fork, now owned and occupied by his son-in-law, A. M. Salyer. His first wife and mother of his surviving sons was also a Rice, being the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alec Rice. Had he lived another month he would have reached his 85th birthday. Surviving are his widow and the following sons: Don of Raceland, Ky.; Elmer of Portsmouth, Ohio; Ross, of Garrison, and Clay, of Covington."

An autopsy examination at Pikeville revealed that death was caused by head injuries and concussion. He was reportedly last seen with a companion, Crate Blair, about 8:30 on the preceding evening. A son of the late Addison and Cora Rice Salyer of Collista, he was a member of a large and prominent family of this county. A veteran of 17 years service, he was home on a 15-day leave from a Veterans hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan, when he met his death. He was reported to have been totally disabled and was drawing compensation for service- connected disability. She married SAMUEL NEWTON "NEWT" FANNIN, son of BRYANT BENJAMIN FANNIN and JOSEPHINE PARSONS. He was born October 18, 1897 in Kentucky, died November 7, 1928 in Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky, and is buried in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky.

     "Bryant B. Fannin was born near Sandy Hook, Elliott County, Kentucky, the sixth day of January, 1865. He was the son of Peter M. and Nancy W. (Hunter) Fannin. There were eleven children in the family, nine of whom grew to maturity, namely: James A.; Thomas Newton; John M.; Bryant B.; George R.; Florence, who was Mrs. Milton Salyers; Levisa, who is the widow of Henry J. Wheeler; Mary, the wife of Milford Duvall of Sandy Hook; and Jasper of Elliott County, Kentucky. James A., George R., and Florence are deceased.

     "Mr. Fannin's wife Josie died July 14, 1922. He afterwards married Mrs. Mollie Green of Ashland, Kentucky. They lived in Ashland at the time of Mr. Fannin's death.
     "Bryant Fannin began business in Elliott County, Kentucky. Through trading in livestock he accumulated considerable capitol and then established a mercantile business in Sandy Hook. He afterwards bought a large tract of land and succeeded in establishing the Fannin post office and opened a store in connection with the new post office. Succeeding in this business venture, but losing his business through fire, he moved to Ashland, Kentucky. At Ashland he began buying and selling timber. In 1903 he located in Paintsville, Kentucky. He continued in the timber trade and developed a large business in the manufacture of staves, which he exported to France and Germany. Several years ago he discontinued his active participation in business affairs.
     "He always a man of strong convictions and deep emotions. On the death of his brother-in-law H. J. Wheeler, Mr. Fannin's hair changed from black to white within a fortnight. This phenomenon is mentiones as an indication of strong emotions Mr. Fannin felt, but usually suppressed. He died April 7, 1927.
     "Fred Fannin married Elizabeth, daughter of Samuel Stapleton. They are shown with the Stapleton family.
     "Vincill Fannin was in the furniture business with his father for several years. He now resides on a farm on Barnetts Creek.      "Edna Fannin married a railroader. He is a conductor for the Chesapeake and Ohio. They live at Ashland, Kentucky.

Wallace Hannah married (2) HULDA A. JACKSON.

According to her death certificate, Wallas B. Hannah died April 29, 1929 in Riceville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and the cause of death is listed as "Gun Shot (Homicide)." He married WILLIE M. BURGESS, daughter of CORNELIUS H. BURGESS and JULIA P. MCCLURE, in June of 1894. She was born in April of 1871 in Kentucky, and died May 28, 1956.

According to that book, Milton Forest Conley was born June 13, 1868 in Louisa, Lawrence County, Kentucky, died February 29, 1940, and was buried in Louisa. He married Willie Burgess, daughter of Cornelius and Julia McClure Burgess, in June of 1894. She died May 28, 1956.

In that book it says that "Milton Forrest Conley (spelling of name changed from Connelly by his father) was born June 13, 1868, at Louisa, Lawrence County, Kentucky. He was educated in the common schools, and in his sixteenth year established the Big Sandy News, a weekly newspaper, since continuously published by him. During the years 1910 and 1912 he was one-half owner in the Ashland (Kentucky) Daily Independent, the Catlettsburg (Kentucky) Daily Press, and the Kentucky Democrat, dividing his time between them and the Big Sandy News. He has been a member of the Kentucky Press Association for twenty-two years and an executive committeeman several terms; and he has attended the National Editorial Association four years as delegate from Kentucky. In 1893 he was appointed postmaster at Louisa and served four years. In 1904 the Louisa National Bank was organized with a capitol of $50,000, and he was offered the position of director and cashier which he accepted. He is identified with other business enterprises in the Big Sandy Valley, and is one of the two trustees of the Kentucky Normal College, at Louisa, Kentucky. For the past three years, Mr. Conley has been chairman of the Kentucky State Board of Charities and Corrections, and located at Frankfort. He was married to Miss Willie Burgess in 1894, and of this union three children were born, namely; Neil, Elizabeth, and Emily."

Conley (b. Kentucky) and Elizabeth Leslie (b. Kentucky), the informant as N. B. Conley of Louisa, and the burial place as Pinehill Cemetery.

According to Kentucky death record transcripts, Milton F. Conley died February 29, 1940 in Lawrence County at the age of 71. He was living in Virginia at the time of his death.

According to his obituary, Milton F. Conley, son of the late A. J. and Elizabeth Conley, was born in 1868 in Johnson County, died February 29, 1940 at the home of his sister in Louisa, and was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery in Louisa. He was living in Roanoke, West Virginia and visiting his sister, Mrs. O. C. McDougle [Stella], at the time of his death. "He went to Louisa when a young man where he spent the greater part of his life. In 1885 he and Boyd Ferguson purchased the Lawrence County Index from Col. W. O. Johnson and changed its name to the Big Sandy News. Later Mr. Conley purchased the interest of his partner and continued as it’s publisher until 1935. The Big Sandy News is still being published and is probably the oldest business in Lawrence county. Mr. Conley was a prominent Democrat. In 1904 he aided in organizing the Louisa National Bank and was cashier until 1934. He served Kentucky as chairman of the State Board of Charities and Collection at Frankford for six years, four under Governor Fields, and two under Governor Sampson." He was survived by his widow, Mrs. Willia Burchett Conley; 2 daughters, Mrs. B. H. Maben (of Roanoke, West Virginia) and Mrs. R. P. Wood (Chicago, Illinois); 1 son, N. B. Conley (Plainfield, New Jersey); and 1 sister, Mrs. O. C. McDougle.

According to his obituary, Edward Blevins (age 49), son of Smith and Clara Adams Blevins, was a disabled veteran and a resident of Staffordsville. He died September 24, 1971 in a local Johnson County hospital following a brief illness, and was buried in the family cemetery in Staffordsville. He was survived by his wife, Corrine Cecil Blevins; 1 son, Ronnie Edward Blevins and wife Edna (of Morehead); 3 daughters at home, Beverly Jean Blevins, Mary Sharon Blevins, and Tammy Fay Blevins; 1 brother, Chalmer Blevins (Wittensville); and 1 sister, Phyllis Jean Ford (Galion, Ohio). When Neil Burgess Conley's World War II draft registration card was filled out on April 15, 1942 in Elizabeth, Union County, New Jersey, he stated that he was working for Calco Chemical Company in Bound Brook, New Jersey, that he lived at 1200 Martina Avenue in Plainfield, Union County, New Jersey, that the person who would always know his address was Mrs. Linda Conley of the same address, and that he was born August 24, 1896 in Louisa, Kentucky. He was found to be 5 feet 10 inches tall, he weighed 180 pounds, and he had brown eyes, brown hair, and a light complexion.

According to a U. S. Department of Labor, Immigration and Naturalization Service document, Neil, Linda, and Ann Conley sailed from Hamilton, Bermuda, to New York City aboard the S.S. Fort Townshend, departing on June 25, 1948, and arriving on June 28, 1948. Also on this document it says that Neil was born August 24, 1896 in Louisa, Kentucky, that Linda was born July 15, 1906 in Shelbyville, Kentucky, that Ann was born in 1932 [date withheld] in Plainfield, New Jersey, and that they lived at 1442 Highland Avenue in Plainfield, New Jersey.

According to Social Security death record transcripts, Neil Conley was born August 24, 1896, and died in April of 1985. He received his Social Security card prior to 1951 in New Jersey, and his last place of residence was in Bradenton, Manatee County, Florida.

Hite on November 3, 1886 in Lunenburg County, Virginia.

A 1941 city directory for Roanoke, Virginia, shows that Elizabeth and Benjamin were living at h703 Carolina Avenue, and that Benjamin was the Assistant Superintendent for N & W Railway.
