SOLOMON RICHARD SPRADLIN, son of HENRY J. SPRADLIN and ROSA T. ANN LEMASTER, was born October 6, 1881 in Cannel City, Morgan County, Kentucky, and died October 16, 1948 in Estill, Floyd County, Kentucky. He married MINERVA JANE "NERVA" LITTERAL, daughter of FRANKLIN "FRANK" LITTERAL and EMALINE LITTERAL, April 24, 1903 in Morgan County, Kentucky. She was born in September of 1883 in Johnson County, Kentucky, and died July 27, 1954 in Floyd County, Kentucky.

Notes: According to his death certificate, there was an unnamed male child stillborn on March 24, 1912 in Cannel City, Morgan County, Kentucky, and the cause of death is listed as "Strangulation by prolaps cord." Also on this certificate, his parents are listed as S. R. Spradling [sic] (b. Morgan County) and N. J. Litteral (b. Johnson County, Kentucky), the informant as S. R. Spradlin of Cannel City, and the burial place as Cannel City Cemetery.

According to Kentucky marriage record transcripts, Sol Spradling married Nevi J. Litteral on April 24, 1903 in Morgan County.

When Sol Spradlin's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Prestonsburg, Floyd County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a miner in Wayland, Floyd County, that his closest relative was Nerva Jane Spradlin of Wayland, and that he was born October 6, 1881. He was found to be of medium height, and he had blue eyes and light-colored hair.

According to his death certificate, Sol R. Spradlin died October 16, 1948 in Estill, Floyd County, Kentucky, from asthma and cardiovascular disease. Also on this certificate, his birthplace is listed as Candle City, Kentucky, his birthdate as October 6, 1881, his marital status as married, his wife as Nervia J. He married (1) EMALINE LITTERAL on November 23, 1882 in Johnson County, Kentucky. She was born in July of 1866 in Kentucky, and died after 1900. He married (2) ALICE STONE, daughter of CUDBERTH B. STONE and CLARINDA ARNETT, about 1904. She was born about 1881 in Kentucky. Alice Stone married (1) MORTON HOWARD on September 20, 1891 in Magoffin County, Kentucky.

Notes: Emaline Litteral could have been the Emeline Litteral who was the daughter of Jency Jane H. Blair and John Fleming Litteral.

Alice Stone was the sister of Turner Stone and Artie Stone.

Notes: When James M. Belcher's World War I draft registration card was filled out on September 12, 1918 in Prestonsburg, Floyd County, Kentucky, he stated that he was a mine foreman in Weeksburg, Floyd County, that his closest relative was "Rebecca Belcher (Wife)" of Weeksbury, and that he was born March [or May] 27, 1881 He was found to be of medium height and stout build, and he had gray eyes and black hair.

According to her obituary, Rebecca Jane Spradlin Belcher (age 71), daughter of the late Henry and Rosa Lemaster Spradlin, was a resident of Halo, Floyd County, Kentucky, at the time of her death. She died in Our Lady of the Way Hospital in Martin, Kentucky, after an illness of 3 months, and was buried in Whitt Martin Cemetery in Dema. She was survived by her husband, James M. Belcher; 2 sons, John Belcher (of Bevinsville) and Thomas Belcher (Halo); 2 daughters, Mrs. Helen Marshall (Langley) and Mrs. Christine Reynolds (Martin, Kentucky); 3 brothers, John Spradlin (Glo, Kentucky), Fred Spradlin (Garrett, Kentucky), and Tom Spradlin (Louisville); 1 sister, Dova Tallent (Estill, Kentucky); 12 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

CHARLES WINSTON CONLEY, son of FRANCIS MARION CONLEY and LOUISE ELIZABETH RICE, was born June 12, 1870 in Hager Hill, Johnson County, Kentucky. He married MALETTITIA "TISHA" MUSIC, daughter of JOHN WESLEY MUSIC and CLARINDA BALDRIDGE. She was born about 1878 in Kentucky.

Notes: Information on this family can be found on page 304 of "The Conley Clan of Eastern Kentucky," published and sold by The Magoffin County Historical Society. In that book it says that Charles Winston Conley was born June 12, 1870 in Hager Hill, and married Tisha Music. Their children were Ollie (who married Lydia Auxier), Wesley (married Kimbert Oliver), Nora Annalee Conley (married John Spradlin), and Oscar Conley (did not marry). All children were born in Hager Hill.

Tisha Music was the sister of Margaret M. Music, Sarah E. Music, and William Lewis Music.

It appears that both Charles and Tisha died prior to 1910, as neither could be found in 1910 or after, and their children were living in other households.

According to her obituary, Isabelle Music Moles (age 82), daughter of the late John W. and Clarinda Baldridge Music, had lived in East Point for most of her life. She was born September 16, 1880 in Floyd County, died October 31, 1962 at home in East Point following an extended illness, and was buried in Moles Cemetery in East Point. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frances Marion Moles, on August 17, 1928; 1 son, Glen Moles; and 2 daughters, Norma Moles and Nettie Moles. Conley (of West Van Lear), Victor Conley (West Van Lear), and Austin Conley (who died in infancy); and 5 sisters, Alta Conley (West Van Lear), Maxine Goble (West Van Lear), Osie Akers (Paintsville), June Corder Young (Paintsville), and Vertrice Howard (Tucson, Arizona). She was survived by 2 sons, Dr. L. C. McCloud (Louisville) and Bill McCloud (Boone, North Carolina); 1 daughter, Betty M. Hughes (Orlando, Florida); 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. MCCLOUD, son of JOSEPH MCCLOUD and NANCY JANE TUTTLE, February 5, 1898 in Johnson County, Kentucky. He was born October 19, 1849 in Virginia, died March 13, 1919 in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky, and is buried in Highland Memorial Park in Staffordsville, Johnson County, Kentucky. George McCloud married (1) ANGELINE COFFEE on February 23, 1871 in Johnson County, Kentucky. She was born in 1854 in Kentucky, and died in 1890. HACKWORTH, son of SHERMAN HACKWORTH and LORA ADAMS. He was born about 1907 in Kentucky, and died August 19, 1988 in Wood County, Ohio.

Notes: According to Social Security death record transcripts, Julia Hackworth was born May 20, 1906, and died in January of 1984. She received her Social Security card prior to 1951 in Kentucky, and her last place of residence was in Prestonsburg, Floyd County, Kentucky.
