"Freddy Hannah
"November 5, 1968
"SSG Freddy Hannah was one of the most respected members of our platoon. He was killed during a firefight near Crocket FSB. SSG Hannah was very 'Short' (means his tour in Vietnam was almost up) and he had the option of staying back at the base but instead decided to go on the ambush patrol because in his words 'I have too many new guys out there.' We were ambushed that night and an RPG round hit in front of SSG Hannah causing his death. His service in the second platoon was un-measureable. He was responsible for saving the lives of many men during his tour. "All gave some, Some gave all." His memory is keenly etched in the hearts of those who knew him."
