Information found on the Johnson County Historical Society's website and photos of their headstones (photo 2) shows that Louramey Ferguson [sic] lived from 1878 to May 29, 1963, and was buried in Camant-Fields Cemetery in Flat Gap, Johnson County, Kentucky, and that James Haden Ferguson lived from March 20, 1847 to April 27, 1939, and was buried in the same cemetery. There is also a note that James was born in 1866 instead of the 1847 that's engraved on his headstone.

He married MARY KATHRYN HARRIS, daughter of DAVID GEORGE WASHINGTON HARRIS and CATHARINE WHEELER, June 14, 1910 in Johnson County, Kentucky. She was born in April of 1897 in Kentucky, died July 23, 1977 in Scioto County, Ohio, and is buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in West Jefferson, Madison County, Ohio.

Notes: Catharine Wheeler was the sister of Martin Van Buren Wheeler.

According to Kentucky marriage records, David Harris (farmer, b. Virginia, parents b. Virginia, resident of Johnson County, 1st marriage, age 18) married Catherine Wheeler (b. Kentucky, parents b. Kentucky, resident of Johnson County, 1st marriage, age 16) on October 16, 1875 in Johnson County.

Harris lived from 1857 to August 20, 1942, and was buried in Wheeler Cemetery on Johns Creek near Flat Gap, Johnson County, Kentucky, and that Catharine Wheeler Harris, wife of David Harris and daughter of John B. Wheeler, lived from October 16, 1859 to April 29, 1897, and was buried in the same cemetery.

     David G. Harris, 85, well known farmer and minister, died at his home at Winifred on August 20. He was the victim of a sudden heart attack. He was a native of Virginia but had lived in Johnson County since two years of age. He was a son on Elijah and Mary Bishop Harris and a member of a prominent family. He was the father of the following children: Mrs. Amanda Jane Lemaster, and John B. Harris, Winifred; Milt Harris, Mechanicsburg, O., Mrs. Florence Lemaster and Mrs. Laura Slone, Winifred; James Harris, Idwa [Iowa]; Mrs. Ora Music, Meally; Mrs. Mary Curtis. Funeral services were held at the home Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Lonza Reed officiating. Burial was made in the Wheeler cemetery. Mr. Harris was a member of the Franks Creek United Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. The Preston Funeral Home had charge of the funeral and burial. A lifelong resident of this community, she was affiliated with the United Baptist Church at Franks Creek. She was married in Paintsville in 1930 to Dave (David George Washington Harris) who preceded her in death August 1941 (August 20, 1942). She is survived by four step-daughters, Mrs. Worthy Curtis (Mary K Harris) of West Jefferson, Ohio, Mrs. Bascom Lemasters (Virgie Florence Harris) of Winifred, Mrs. Proctor Slone (Laura Emma Harris) of Kerz, Mrs. Grover Music (Nancy Oma Harris) of Meally; two stepsons, Jim Harris (James Herbert Harris) of Paton, Iowa, and Milt Harris (Brigham Milton "Milt" Harris) of Mechanicsburg, Ohio. A Brother, Martin Green of Chandlerville, also survives her. Services were conducted at the schoolhouse at Chandlerville by Elders Lonza Reed, Culley Sparks, and Leonard Walters.      Helen was a member of Candy Run United Baptist Church.

     Surviving are a son, Lowell (Judy) Curtis of New Smyrna Beach, Fla; two daughters, Darlene (Bill) Perkins of Rosemount and Faye Wheeler of Minford; a sister, Roberta Plymale of Portsmouth; ten grandchildren, Scott Curtis, Shawn Curtis, Dianna Young, Tom Perkins, Sandy Perkins, Mary Ellen Aeh, Sally Jo Eshem, Wanda Eshem, Edgel Eshem and John R. Eshem; and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
     A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3rd, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Junior Murray officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.
     The family will receive friends at Brant’s from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to the service.

He was found to be 5 feet 6 inches tall, he weighed 140 pounds, and he had blue eyes, gray hair, a light brown complexion, and a scar on his left arm just below the elbow.

     A native of Johnson County, Ky., she was born March 28, 1900, a daughter of the late John and Cnythia [sic] Cantrell Curtis, and was a member of Cedar Street Church of Christ in Christian Union.
     Preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Ward, in 1963, and her second husband, Elbert Palmer, in 1973, she is survived by two sons, Thomas L. Ward of East Lake and Eldon Ward of Lucasville Route 2; six daughters, Avonell Nichols, Kathleen Seeley and Doris Flowers, all of Portsmouth, Opal Keaton of Left Hand, W. Va., Shirley Wheeler of Minford, and Sue Parker of Lincoln Park, Mich.; a brother, Thomas Curtis of Mt. Gilead; 47 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
     Service is 2 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Steve Cremeans and the Rev. Robert Barth officiating, and internment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
     Friends may call at Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth from 5 to 9 p.m. today and at the church one hour before the service Thursday.

     He was also predeceased by two brothers, Cover J. Palmer and Robert Jackson Palmer.
